Akshay Kumar has been busy promoting his upcoming film Raksha Bandhan. This marks his second collaboration with filmmaker Aanand L Rai. His movie is clashing with Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha on August 11, 2022. But, certain sections on social media have been calling boycott on both the films. Responding to the social media trends, the actor spoke about the boycott issue.
In his recent promotional event at Kolkata, when asked about the calls to boycott both his and Aamir Khan's film, the actor said it is a free country and anyone can do whatever they want but also said, “As I just said this, it is a free country, everyone can do what they want. But this all (speaking about the two big releases) helps the economy of India. We are all at the verge of becoming the biggest and the greatest country. I would request them (the trolls) and you (the media), don’t get into it.”
Raksha Bandhan featuring Bhumi Pednekar, Akshay Kumar, Neeraj Sood, Seema Pahwa, Sadia Khateeb, Abhilash Thapliyal, Deepika Khanna, Smrithi Srikanth and Sahejmeen Kaur is all set to release on 11th August 2022.
