EXCLUSIVE: Sitaare Zameen Par makers send UPDATED release strategy to cinemas for Friday – NO shows before 11 am, ONLY 4 shows between 11 am - 6 pm; normal showcasing from Saturday

Earlier in the day, Bollywood Hungama informed readers about the release strategy followed by the makers and distributors of Aamir Khan’s much-awaited film, Sitaare Zameen Par. It has now come to light that another set of requirements was given to the cinemas earlier a few hours before, that is on the morning of Wednesday, June 18.

An exhibition source told Bollywood Hungama, “In the revised mail, the distributor has informed all the theatres and multiplexes that on the day of release, that is, Friday, June 20, they can’t play any show before 11 am. And that’s not all. The theatres were also requested to play a maximum of 4 shows only of Sitaare Zameen Par between 11 am and 6 pm.”

The source continued, “After 6:00 pm, the cinema halls can play as many shows of Sitaare Zameen Par as they wish to. Moreover, this requirement is only for Friday. From Saturday, June 21 onwards, there’ll be no such demand and the cinemas can follow the requirement sent to them before.”

The source further said, “As per the older directive, there should be no show of the film before 9:00 am. They have asked cinema halls to opt for popular weekend pricing for the film. If the single screen wants to play the film, the exhibitor will be required to have all shows of Sitaare Zameen Par. It can't exhibit any other film. Two-screen cinemas need to allot 8 shows. Multiplexes with 3, 4, 5 and 6 screens need to play 11, 14, 16 and 19 shows a day respectively. For 7-screen multiplexes, 22 shows are a must while for 8-screen plexes, 25 shows are mandatory in a day. There should be 28 shows in 9-screen cinemas and for multiplexes with 10 screens and more, the requirement is 31 shows. This directive will be followed from June 21.”

EXCLUSIVE: No shows before 9 am, no blockbuster pricing, no sharing of shows in single screens - release strategy of Aamir Khan-starrer Sitaare Zameen Par REVEALED

The much-awaited film, Sitaare Zameen Par, is all set to release in 2 days and the excitement is tremendous. Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama broke the viral story of the censor cuts in the Aamir Khan-starrer. Today, we bring to you the release strategy opted for by the makers and distributors of Sitaare Zameen Par.

An exhibition source told Bollywood Hungama, "The distributors have sent a list of requirements to all the theatres, now that the censor certificate has been obtained. As per the requirement, there should be no show of the film before 9:00 am. They have asked cinema halls to opt for popular weekend pricing for the film. Usually, big films go for blockbuster pricing, when the rates are sky-high. Aamir, however, has not allowed it, probably as it would have made it unaffordable for a large chunk of the moviegoers."

The source further said, "The popular ticket pricing is a bit higher than regular pricing. But for a big film to not go for higher rates is a significant step."

The source shared more details on the screen requirement, "If the single screen wants to play the film, the exhibitor will be required to have all shows of Sitaare Zameen Par. There should be 28 shows in 9-screen cinemas and for multiplexes with 10 screens and more, the requirement is 31 shows."

The advance booking of Sitaare Zameen Par was opened yesterday as soon as the CBFC passed the film. As expected, the makers have gone wide with the release. A final screen count is expected to be known by tomorrow, June 19.

Manasvi Mamgai's Hollywood production Captivated starring Al Pacino commences with blessings of Pope Leo XIV

In a rare and historic meeting at Vatican City, Hollywood legend Al Pacino and producer Manasvi Mamgai were officially received by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, marking a spiritual and symbolic beginning for the upcoming film Captivated. The project, backed by 32RED Entertainment, has commenced filming in Rome.

This meeting holds several firsts — Al Pacino, known globally for The Godfather and other iconic roles, became the first film star to be formally received by the newly appointed Pope Leo XIV. It also marked the first time Pacino met with a Pope. For Manasvi Mamgai, co-founder of 32RED Entertainment, the moment was equally significant as one of the few Indian-origin producers to receive such an audience.

Mamgai reflected on the moment, saying, “Meeting His Holiness, the Pope, was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As an Indian-origin producer, standing alongside Al Pacino in such an extraordinary moment felt surreal and deeply meaningful. No better way to start a movie than to receive blessings from His Holiness himself.”

Directed by Dito Montiel (Riff Raff), Captivated is a high-stakes thriller inspired by true events. The film centers on Saro, a Calabrian mafia boss who kidnaps the grandson of billionaire Jean Paul Getty. As the situation intensifies, Saro forms an unexpected emotional bond with the boy’s mother, Abigail Harris — a connection that puts his entire empire at risk.

Captivated is produced by 32RED Entertainment, a Los Angeles and Mumbai-based studio founded in 2021 by Manasvi Mamgai and Michael Mammoliti. The company focuses on bold, globally resonant storytelling, and Captivated marks one of its most ambitious productions to date. Filming is underway and the release is slated for 2025.

With a powerful narrative, a legendary lead, and the Pope’s blessing, Captivated promises a compelling cinematic journey grounded in both emotion and suspense.

SS Rajamouli builds grand Varanasi set in Hyderabad for SSMB29; Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas to resume shoot in Kenya: Reports

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli is currently busy with his upcoming project SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is shaping up to be a visually ambitious cinematic experience. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the team has completed two major filming schedules and is now working on a critical segment set in Varanasi. Instead of shooting on location, Rajamouli has opted to recreate the holy city at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City. The reason: the logistical challenges of filming in Varanasi, one of India’s most densely populated and spiritually active cities.

The massive set is estimated to have cost nearly Rs 50 crores. Significant portions of the film, including action scenes featuring Mahesh Babu, will be shot here. Rajamouli's hallmark use of green screen technology and VFX will once again be central to his vision. Some of the most reputed Hollywood VFX studios have been brought on board to deliver world-class visuals, with a large part of the film's budget reportedly allocated to the graphics department.

In addition to Hyderabad, schedules in Odisha have also been completed. As per a report by Filmfare, the production is now gearing up for its first international schedule in Kenya, which was initially planned for March but had to be pushed. The Kenya schedule, slated for July, will feature Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in sequences set against dense wilderness and a natural backdrop.

The film is also notable for marking Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ return to Indian cinema after a six-year hiatus. She was last seen in The Sky Is Pink (2019), and her comeback in a Rajamouli film is already generating strong interest among fans and industry insiders alike.

Kriti Sanon’s sister Nupur Sanon faces backlash as her fashion brand NOBO gets slammed for overpriced apparel

Nupur Sanon, actress and sister of Bollywood star Kriti Sanon, is currently facing heat on social media after her fashion brand NOBO (short for No Boundaries) came under fire for what many users have called "overpriced fast fashion." While the brand aims to position itself as a premium label offering Indo-western pieces for the modern Indian woman, online users don’t seem convinced by the price tags attached to its collection.

A quick glance at the NOBO website shows that the least expensive item listed is a pair of casual shorts priced at Rs. 2,400, while the most expensive product—a traditional kurta set—costs a steep Rs. 26,500. Western wear items include a skirt and crop top combo retailing at Rs. 20,000. Even the simplest dresses start at around Rs. 7,000.

Social media users, particularly on Reddit, have not held back in criticizing the brand for what they see as unjustified pricing, especially for garments they believe resemble low-cost fashion available in local street markets like Sarojini Nagar. One user sarcastically wrote, “I think her brand name is incomplete cause she clearly forgot to write Label NoboDY IS BUYING THIS OVERPRICED FAST FASHION SHIT FROM ME.” Another commented, “Label NoBo – No One Buy One.” The ridiculous price points of Nupur Sanons ( Kritis sister) clothing line called Label Nobo. Doesn't explain why such basic cloths are sold and such high price points. Is it money laundering of some sort ( scamming buyers)? byu/Affectionate_Post592 inBollyBlindsNGossip

Others pointed out the gap between price and quality, with one comment reading, “Yes the quality is very bad. At best the price should be around 1k—even that is too much for such poor designs.” Another quipped, “No Bo is short for ‘Nobody Bought it.’”

The criticism appears to stem not just from the cost, but from what some users feel is a growing disconnect between celebrity-led brands and the everyday consumer. A few users also noted the irony in launching a brand called "No Boundaries" while offering products many feel are out of reach for most.

As of now, neither Nupur Sanon nor Kriti Sanon has addressed the backlash publicly. Whether the brand will revise its pricing or respond to the criticism remains to be seen, but it has certainly sparked a larger conversation around accessibility and authenticity in celebrity fashion ventures.

Madhu Mantena’s banner Mad Man working on a high-octane action franchise

A lot is cooking at maverick producer Madhu Mantena’s newly launched production company Mad Man.

One hears he is in negotiation with some of the most brilliant young directors in the film industry today. “I am not in the position to reveal names right now. But yes, Mad Man my production house, is on the move. We will be making some announcements soon. All I can say now is, expect only the unexpected from us. Mad Man is not interested in doing anything that other production houses have already done,” said Mantena.

One of the ideas that Mantena’s Mad Man is working on is an indigenous action franchise with either a superstar or a young debutant in the lead.

The name of Mantena’s new production house Mad Man not only conveys the mood of unpredictability and adventure, which would be the hallmark of Madhu’s future film productions, but is also derived from the first three letters of Madhu Mantena’s first name and surname.

Jonita Gandhi recalls receiving d*ck pic with her own photo in the background: “They just want attention. People are jobless”

Singer Jonita Gandhi recently opened up about her experiences with online harassment and inappropriate behaviour from fans at public events. In a candid conversation with Hauterrfly, the singer spoke about the darker side of fame and how she deals with unsolicited online and offline attention.

“It’s disgusting, but I report it” During the interview, Jonita shared a particularly disturbing incident involving social media misuse. Recalling an incident of digital harassment, she said, “On Instagram, you can check your mentions, right? So I was checking my mentions, and I had been added to someone's 'Close Friends' list. I was seeing their Instagram story, and it's a d*ck pic... It's a watermark of their thing with my photo in the background. It's disgusting.”*

The ‘What Jhumka’ singer added that while she usually ignores such things, it’s still a form of harassment. “I also report these things. I think they just want attention. People are jobless. I've blocked so many people because of these things,” she said, expressing concern over the impact it may have on her family. “People also tag you in such photos. I don't really care, but if my mom checks my profile and sees those things... I want to protect her from those.” “Some people just want a female performer on stage” Apart from her online experiences, Jonita also reflected on awkward and sometimes alarming interactions with over-enthusiastic fans at live shows. She stressed the importance of performing for audiences who value her artistry and not merely her presence as a female performer.

“There are people who just get on the stage and say that they want to join me in singing. Of course, that's annoying. It is really annoying. And I hit them back with a sarcastic response, but they are too drunk to understand,” she revealed.

Border 2 shooting update: Ahan Shetty kicks off shoot for sequel of Suniel Shetty starrer in Pune on Father’s Day 2025

In a heartwarming moment that blends legacy, family, and ambition, Ahan Shetty, son of the legendary actor Suniel Shetty, commenced the shoot for Border 2 in Pune on Father’s Day. The timing couldn’t have been more symbolic, as Ahan not only embarks on a career-defining journey but also carries forward his father's legacy in the world of cinema.

Border, the 1997 war epic directed by J.P. Dutta, starred Suniel Shetty in one of his most iconic roles as a soldier caught in the throes of battle during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film went on to become a cult classic, with Shetty's portrayal of a determined, brave soldier resonating with audiences across the country.

Now, 28 years later, Ahan Shetty is stepping into his own shoes, taking on the mantle of Border 2, the highly anticipated sequel. The sequel promises to bring a new generation into the fold of the patriotic narrative, while also paying homage to the iconic film that established Suniel Shetty as one of Bollywood’s finest action stars.

A well-placed industry source revealed that Ahan has undergone extensive training for the role, with preparation in both physical fitness and combat skills. Much like his father did in the original Border. Border 2 is expected to expand the scope of the original, delving deeper into the emotional and human side of war. The film will feature a strong ensemble cast, with Ahan Shetty leading the charge as one of the key protagonists.

While details of the plot are still under wraps, industry insiders speculate that the film will not only honor the original’s storyline but also bring in fresh perspectives, with a new generation of actors and characters.

As the Border franchise prepares to enter a new chapter, fans eagerly await what Border 2 has to offer. The film is set to be a heartfelt tribute to both the sacrifices of soldiers and the strength of family legacies.

EXCLUSIVE: Inox R City Ghatkopar at it again; after viral Mission Impossible fiasco, theatre now cancels Khuda Gawah’s special screening: “Patrons were angry; some had come all the way from Andheri, Panvel”

In the post-pandemic era, there has been a renewed interest to watch re-releases or special screenings of older classics on the big screen. Hence, many such shows often get sold out or have high occupancy. And when patrons travel from one part of the city to another only to realize that the show has been cancelled, one can imagine the frustration. This is what happened on Saturday, June 14, during the special show of Khuda Gawah (1992), starring Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi, held at Mumbai’s Inox R City Ghatkopar.

The show was scheduled for 5:30 PM in the 160-seater audi of Screen 7. Just around the show time, the management informed the patrons that the show had been cancelled as the content hadn’t been delivered to the cinema hall. As per reports, the show had an occupancy of nearly 90%, that is around 140-145 people were present. As expected, the patrons created a ruckus.

Bollywood Hungama spoke to Sriram Jay. He revealed how things unfolded, “I had booked the tickets of Khuda Gawah in advance. At the entrance, the QR code on my ticket wasn’t getting scanned despite multiple attempts. Then I was told that there is no show of Khuda Gawah and that it was replaced by Final Destination Bloodlines. The manager approached me. He said they didn’t receive the content of the film. He was shocked to know that I wasn’t called and informed about Khuda Gawah’s cancellation.”

He added, “I came to the theatre with great expectations and excitement to watch Khuda Gawah. There was almost 90% occupancy. Some patrons created a scene at the booking counter and refused to go back. This is so unprofessional. Imagine spoiling the weekend like this!”

He added, “The patrons were very upset. Some came all the way from Andheri; some even came from Panvel. I totally empathize with them. Someone called the BookMyShow customer care over this episode and they made it clear that they were not informed by the cinema hall over the cancellation of the show.”

The theatre provided a refund or allowed viewers to watch another film in the multiplex. Sriram Jay revealed, “I paid Rs. 300 for two tickets for Khuda Gawah. The management told me to select another movie which I did – Materialists – but the cost of the ticket was much higher. However, they were kind enough not to charge the difference; they adjusted against the amount of Rs. 300 that I had originally paid.”

He continued, “But the point here is that modern cinemas are very casual about such incidents. They feel, 'We are saying sorry and refunding the money' is enough as compensation. But what about deficiency in service? What about the loss of experience?”

This is the second such incident in Inox R City Ghatkopar in the last 30 days. In May, a frustrated moviegoer posted a video after the show of the Hindi version of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was cancelled, that too after making the attendees wait for 30 minutes. In the video, the theatre staffer can be seen explaining that the film couldn’t be played as the KDM wasn’t delivered. However, the Reddit user claimed that the show couldn’t be played as the projectionist wasn’t available. What angered the patrons was the lackadaisical attitude of the staff and refusal to cancel the food orders; the moviegoers instead were told to take the popcorn home. The video went viral and was covered by several news websites as well.

Aamir Khan slams Turkey and speaks up on religion-based attacks in Aap Ki Adalat appearance

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan made a rare and powerful appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, where he responded to long-standing criticism over his photos with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife. The actor also spoke out against religious profiling and emphasized his support for India’s armed forces.

During the interview, Aamir Khan condemned communal attacks and questioned the morality of targeting people based on their religion. “You are shooting at common citizens, you are shooting at the people of the family. I could have been there, you could have been there. And you are shooting at them by questioning their religion. What does this mean?”, he said.

He insisted that he has spoken on this before and continued, “Now what happens is that I am not on social media. So, as things happen, people keep saying things (there) in every second. (Yet) I also talked about it. When I went to a function, I was asked about (the Pahalgam attack). So, my answer was very clear. This attack is not only on the people of our country. This attack is also on the unity of our country.”

The actor further clarified that any statement he made in support of the armed forces should not be seen through the lens of film promotion. “Look, the answer that our soldiers, our brave men have given — for that, if I speak (in favour of them), am I doing something wrong? Should I think about my film at that time, or should I think about my soldiers? At that time, if I think that my film is coming, then should I keep quiet? I can't talk about our armed forces. I feel this is wrong. So I said this openly.”

When the host Rajat also questioned him about the timing of trailer release of Sitaare Zameen Par, which almost dropped immediately after Khan extended his support towards armed forces, Aamir clarified, “Rajat ji, actually our film's trailer had to come a long time ago. And I cancelled it because of the attack on our country” and also added that another event which was the premiere of his old cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna was also cancelled in the wake of the attack.

"People misunderstood me that I didn't speak on Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor as I am not active in social media. Due to that terrorist attack I cancelled the trailer launch of my film for 10 days":- Megastar #AamirKhan ???? pic.twitter.com/houb1zRXjy — RAJ (@AamirsDevotee) June 14, 2025

Aamir also addressed the backlash surrounding his old pictures with Turkish President Erdogan and his wife, particularly in light of Turkey’s recent political stance. “Turkey has done a very wrong thing and every Indian has been hurt by this... So who gave them the first help? India gave them the first help. Our government helped them. Just like I did not know when I went to meet Erdogan. Just like the government did not know, even I did not know that they would do this to us after 7 years.” Speaking on the viral image with Erdogan's wife, he asserted, “That is even older than that. That is even older than that.”

He explained his presence at the meeting was not political but a courtesy as a public figure. “Now see, Mr. Rajat, what happens is that I, as a celebrity, as an actor, when I go to another country, I am like an ambassador of the country. So when someone tells me that you will come for tea, it does not feel right for me to say no,” he shared.

We should not support Turkey. -#AamirKhan #SitaareZameenPar#OperationSindoor pic.twitter.com/mpqWjuaMhz — Dev (@Dev_Atheist) June 14, 2025

Aamir Khan finally expressed solidarity with Indians choosing to boycott Turkey. “Very right. We should not support Turkey at all. When they are attacking us, when they are helping us in Pakistan, when they are colliding with us, then they are taking it towards Pakistan. When we helped them. What is this? This is wrong. Very wrong”, Khan revealed.

The actor’s candid remarks have sparked fresh debate online, with many applauding his transparency and timing in addressing these sensitive issues.
