Shashank Khaitan’s Mr Lele back on track! Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal to start shooting this year

Kiara Advani is currently one of the busiest actresses of Bollywood with multiple films in her kitty. She flew down to Manali on Wednesday night to join the team of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 for which she will be shooting for a week before returning to Mumbai for the next schedule. Now, it has been reported that Kiara Advani will also be a part of Mr. Lele which will go on floors this year.

Kiara Advani will be reuniting with Vicky Kaushal on screen after Lust Stories for Mr. Lele. The Shashank Khaitan directorial was announced a year ago with Varun Dhawan as the lead. However, he later got replaced by Vicky Kaushal. In March 2020, it was announced that Mr. Lele had been shelved as things were not falling into place. However, things seem to have fallen into place now and the makers plan on taking the film on floors later this year.

Before starting with Mr. Lele, Kiara Advani will be wrapping up Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Raj Mehta's Jug Jugg Jeeyo with Varun Dhawan.

Kiara Advani will also be seen in Ashutosh Gowariker production Karram Kurram where she plays the role of a woman who started a cooperative organization with other housewives and went on to establish a monopoly in papad business.

Meanwhile, Kiara's next release will be Shershaah alongside Sidharth Malhotra. The film set in the backdrop of the Kargil War will be released in July.

Sanya Malhotra shares teaser of Pagglait; film to release on Netflix on March 26

Sanya Malhotra got the perfect birthday present as Netflix dropped the teaser of her upcoming film Pagglait, slated to release next month. After stealing hearts with her performance in Ludo, Sanya is back on Netflix in this dramedy which takes viewers on an emotional journey with a true-to-life portrayal of a typical Indian middle-class family navigating a crisis. Sanya plays the role of the recently widowed Sandhya struggling to mourn the death of her husband. As events unfold, Sandhya sets onto a path of self-discovery, attempting to find her identity and purpose in life - all this while living amidst the quirky members of her joint family.

Directed and written by Umesh Bist, the film boasts an ensemble cast consisting of veteran actors - Sayani Gupta, Shrutii Sharma, Ashutosh Rana, Raghubir Yadav, Sheeba Chaddha, Meghna Malik and Rajesh Tailang.

Sudhir Mishra to trace the rise of British Raj in India for his next

For his next film, filmmaker Sudhir Mishra plans on revisiting the history of India. The filmmaker is currently developing a period drama that traces the rise of the British Raj in India during the 19th century.

Reportedly, the story is set in 1840. The filmmaker feels that it is time to tell our own stories so that the next generation knows the stories of our freedom. The show will take a hard look at what the British did to India and how they established their rule over the country.

Talking to a tabloid, Mishra said that he has written the first season. He said that considering the nature of the subject, the series has to be mounted on a massive scale and it will take them time to roll the project.

The web series has been envisioned by Mishra and backed by Applause Entertainment as a three season offering. Mishra further said that the series will be an international show and will include western actors alongside Indian artistes.

Mumbai Saga’s first song ‘Shor Machega’ composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh to release on February 28

The makers of Sanjay Gupta directorial Mumbai Saga dropped the teaser of the film on Wednesday. Now, they are all set to release the first song from the film on February 28. The party song 'Shor Machega' is composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh with lyrics and vocals by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Hommie Dilliwala.

With the teaser of the film already making noise, the makers of John Abraham - Emraan Hashmi starring Mumbai Saga along with composer- singer Yo Yo Honey Singh teased us with the announcing the release date of their first song - 'Shor Machega'.

Rhea Chakraborty blocked from Chehre poster; big blow to her plans to make a comeback to Bollywood

All the talk about the Bollywood film industry supporting the traumatized actress Rhea Chakraborty and helping her to come out of the legal and media trial she faced for the death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput last year, has proven to be nothing but empty posturing.

The first poster of her new film significantly entitled Chehre (faces) is out. Though it prominently features Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, even Annu Kapoor and Bengali actor Dhritiman Chatterjee, Rhea is nowhere to be seen. This deliberate obliteration comes as a big blow to her plans to quietly make a comeback to cinema this year.

A close concerned friend of the actress says, “Not even in her wildest dream had Rhea anticipated this snub. After all that she had gone through in 2020 she was somehow trying to piece together her life again…only to be rudely awakened to the reality. She is not welcome in Bollywood, it seems.”

How has Rhea taken this blow?

The friend replies, “After what she went through, do you think this snub would shatter her? Not at all. She has fought many hurdles during the last year. She would fight this one too.”

Now the question that Rhea’s friends and well-wishers in the film industry are asking is, will her role be cut in Chehre? Or would she be spared at least that indignity? The most surprising part of this snub is director Rumi Jaffrey’s silence in the matter. Rumi is known to be a close friend of Rhea and had supported her at a time when the entertainment industry kept mum.

Reveals a source, “Rumi Jaffrey had no say in the matter. He was not consulted about the date of release of Chehre. Or about Rhea going missing from the poster.”

Tom Hiddleston starrer Loki to premiere on Disney+ on June 11, 2021

Disney has set a date for Marvel's upcoming series Loki starring Tom Hiddleston. After the WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki will hit the streaming giant on June 11, 2021.

Ahead of the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Disney+ unveiled the release date for Marvel Studios' Loki. The series features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs Loki, and Michael Waldron is the head writer.

Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon starrer Spider-Man 3 titled No Way Home, film releases on December 17, 2021

Spider-Man's next adventure finally gets a title. After much anticipation, the third installment in the franchise starring Tom Holland as the web-slinger will be called Spider-Man: No Way Home. Starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon the announcement was made on Wednesday.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will have a special appearance by Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. There are rumours that the movie delves into the multiverse connecting the different generations of Spider-Man films.

Alfred Molina, who played Doctor Octopus in Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 2, is set to make his appearance in the film. Jamie Foxx, playing Electro from 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, will be adding more fuel to fire in this version of the film!

Sony and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 is currently set for December 17, 2021 release.

Prateik Babbar and Lara Dutta to star in Indian remake of comedy drama series Casual

Actors Prateik Babbar and Lara Dutta are set to star in Indian remake of the comedy drama series Casual for Starz and Lionsgate Play in India and South Asia. The series will be directed by Kunal Kohli.

According to Variety, Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs, “The launch of Lionsgate Play’s first slate of original series in India is the next logical step in the continued rapid growth of the platform. Our ability to kick off the Lionsgate Play original slate with the remake of a great intellectual property like ‘Casual,’ with a renowned director and world-class stars, shows what we can achieve through the continued collaboration of our Starz, Lionsgate Television and Lionsgate India businesses."

Casual premiered on October 7, 2015 on Hulu. It centered around on Valerie (Michaela Watkins), a newly divorced single mother living with her brother Alex (Tommy Dewey) and her daughter Laura (Tara Lynne Barr).

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to start shooting together for Pathan from February 25

Shah Rukh Khan started shooting for his upcoming film Pathan in November last year. The film directed by Siddharth Anand is an action thriller produced by Yash Raj Films. The film also stars Deepika Padukone who also shot for some key sequences last year. The team also had a schedule in the UAE in the month of January. And now as per reports, the team of Pathan is all set to start their third schedule starting tomorrow at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.

We had earlier reported that Salman Khan has an extended cameo in the film where he will be reprising his character Tiger. According to reports, Salman Khan will start shooting for the project from tomorrow for the next 10-12 days. Reportedly, all of Salman's scenes are with SRK.

Reports further state that the chemistry between the two stars is going to be special and the biggest till date. Aditya Chopra along with his team of writers has come up with scenes that will justify the presence of two of the biggest superstars of Bollywood.

Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone play the role of a spy in the film. Salman Khan's character Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger from the Tiger Franchise will be joining them in the film. John Abraham is the lead antagonist in the film. However, it is not confirmed whether John and Deepika will be shooting with the two Khans from tomorrow. Either way, the audience is going to witness the biggest crossover of Bollywood in Pathan.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is expected to wrap up Pathan by March 6 and will then jump to Maneesh Sharma's directorial Tiger 3 at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. He will be shooting with Katrina Kaif who plays the role of Zoya and Emraan Hashmi who is the lead antagonist. The first schedule will reportedly last a month long before they head over to their overseas schedule.

Pathan is expected to be released in early 2022, while Tiger 3 is expected to release on Eid 2022

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi starrer directed by Sriram Raghavan to be titled Merry Christmas

For the first time ever Bollywood star Katrina Kaif and South superstar Vijay Sethupathi will be sharing screen space for filmmaker Sriram Raghavan's next. While the film will go on floors in April the makers have now locked the title of the film.

The film has been titled Merry Christmas and the core premise is inspired from a short film and the story is set in Pune. The film produced by Ramesh Taurani promises to be an edge of the seat thriller.

Andhadhun director Sriram Raghavan is known to bring something new to the table every time he directs a film and this time, he is planning to make a fast-paced film with no interval. As per sources, the film will have no room for an interval and will be a straight 90-minutes-long film. The shooting schedule will be of 30 days and some portions will be shot in Mumbai as well.

To avoid being outside a lot during the COVID-19 times, most of the editing work of the film will be done in the script itself. Sriram Raghavan is sure of the shots that he wants from the lead pair and will avoid keeping excess stock footage.

BREAKING: It's Thalaivi vs Bunty Aur Babli 2, as Kangana Ranaut to take on Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan at box-office

On Wednesday morning, Kangana Ranaut announced that she will be making a special announcement at 6:35 pm today about her next film, Thalaivi, which is the biopic of Jayalalithaa. On slight investigation, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the makers are unveiling a motion teaser poster of the film with it’s release date. According to a trade source, the film is confirmed to hit the big screen on April 23, 2021 in multiple Indian languages.

“It’s a Pan-India film and they have decided on summer holidays to capitalise on the family audience. Thalaivi team wants to reap benefits of the vacation period and carry forward a healthy trend at BO in week two thereby getting advantage of the holiday period around labour day,” a trade source shared.

Interestingly, the release date has already been blocked by Aditya Chopra’s production, Bunty Aur Babli 2, which features Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh in the lead. The announcement of Thalaivi later in the day on the occasion of Jayalalithaa’s birthday will result in a clash with Bunty Aur Babli 2 at the box-office. The release calendar is getting crowded with every passing day, and the industry is now seeing clashes like no other year before this.

Earlier in the day, it was announced that Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi will release on July 30, thereby clashing with Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam.

Pranitha Subhash says that shooting for Hungama 2 was a surreal experience; adds she is excited about her Bollywood journey

11 years ago, Pranitha Subhash marked her acting debut with the Kannada film, Porki. The film went on to have a successful run at the box office and ever since there has been no looking back for the young actor. Over the years, she went on to appear in Tamil and Telugu films as well which won her critical acclaim. And now, Pranitha is all set to add a new feather to her hat. This year, she will be seen in two big-ticket films, Bhuj: The Pride Of India and Hungama 2.

As she gears up to carve a niche for herself in the Hindi film industry, she is ready to “start from scratch all over again”. She says, “The best part about this profession is that it keeps you humble all the time. It’s just wonderful to explore another industry. It’s a new team, a new language, new friends, etc. I’m having the time of my life.”

A while back, Pranitha wrapped up the shoot of the second installment of Hungama which remains one of the most popular comedy films to date. Ask her about working on Hungama 2 and she says that it made for a “surreal” experience. She elaborates, “I remember watching Hungama on TV at my home in Bengaluru. I think I was barely 10 or 11, but I remember how much I laughed when I watched it. It’s surreal that so many years later, I’m part of its sequel.”

Pranitha is happy to be living her dream. As she looks forward to a new chapter in her career, she says, “That’s the beauty of cinema — anything can happen. One moment you’re sitting at home and watching a film on TV and the next moment, you’re acting in its sequel. Cinema makes you believe that dreams and wishes do come true.”
