Lily-Rose Depp replaces Anna Taylor Joy in Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu remake along with Bill Skarsgård also

Bill Skarsgård and Lily-Rose Depp reportedly join Robert Eggers' long-awaited Nosferatu remake. Eggers is set to write, direct and produce the new imagining of the cinematic classic.

According to Deadline, in the new reimagining, Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him. Taylor-Joy had to step down as female protagonist of the film due to busy schedule.

Nosferatu will mark Eggers’ first time working with Depp and Skarsgård. The Focus Features film is produced by Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Eggers, Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus. The Nosferatu remake has been a passion project of Eggers’ for years and was reported to be in works with Anya Taylor-Joy and Harry Styles at Studio 8 in 2019.

Bill Skarsgard is best known for his performance as Pennywise in It franchise. His other credits include Marvel’s Eternals, Nine Days and Barbarian. He’ll next appear in John Wick: Chapter 4, Boy Kills World and stars in The Crow remake.

Meanwhile, Depp is set to star opposite The Weeknd in the upcoming HBO series The Idol, produced by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. She most recently appeared in the remake of Silent Night.

Song Joong Ki to charge no fees for starring in noir film Hwaran

South Korean superstar Song Joong Ki will reportedly not charge any fee in return “in support of the project’s artistic quality” in the new noir film Hwaran (romanized title). The film also stars BIBI.

According to Korean media portal Soompi, on September 30, representatives of Song Joong Ki confirmed that he would star in the film with “no guarantee,” meaning that he decided to not receive payment for his appearance.

As the report states, the film will be produced by HISTORY D&C, which is also Song Joong Ki’s agency. However, the agency confirmed that their production participation was unrelated to the actor’s decision to not receive a separate fee for his appearance.

“I’m happy to appear in Hwaran and since it’s a project that will be a new challenge for me, it feels new,” Soong Joong Ki said. “I’m looking forward to the competitive and passionate set that we will create together with the director and actors.”

Hwaran is a noir film about precarious characters who make dangerous choices to escape hellish reality. It will be produced by Sanai Pictures and HISTORY D&C. Song Joong Ki stars as Chi Geon alongside Hong Sa Bin’s Yeon Gyu.

On the work front, the Vincenzo star is currently filming the JTBC drama Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son (literal title), a fantasy drama based on a hit web novel of the same name about a chaebol family’s secretary who is reborn as the family’s youngest son.

First poster out! Urmila Matondkar to make her digital debut with the web series ‘Tiwari’

Actress Urmila Matondkar is known for her superlative performances in films like Satya, Ek Haseena Thi, Bhoot, Rangeela, Kaun and Pinjar to name a few. Now, she is all set to make a grand comeback with her digital debut in a thriller titled ‘Tiwari’ directed by Saurabh Varma, and produced by Content Engineers. The actress will play the titular role in the upcoming web series set in a small town and has an emotional mother-daughter story at the core of it.

The makers released a poster today and Urmila’s transformation will surely leave her fans intrigued.  The thriller has the actress doing gritty action for which she has been training rigorously for the last six months. Urmila will be seen in a completely different avatar in the show. With Urmila’s pre-existing vast and varied body of work, this surely becomes a comeback that is eagerly awaited.

Talking about the show, the actress says, “This one offered me characters and a story arc that is challenging as a performer and things that I haven’t attempted so far. Written and created by a team of young writers, the team managed to keep me hooked till the end while narrating it. What I liked the most in the story is that at the core, it’s an emotional mother-daughter story but at the same time it has everything from drama to action to some thrilling twists and turns. Tiwari is something that has been loved as a script by all age groups and fits the bill in totality.”

On the other hand, Utpaal Acharya, CEO of Content Engineers, says, “As a studio, our focus is totally on content and knowing the repertoire of Urmila, we surely wanted her to associate with something new for her as well as her fans. It’s amazing to see her so committed to the craft even after all these years.”

The show produced by Dr Raj Kishor Khaware and Utpaal Acharya, is presently under pre-production.

Singer Alfaaz Singh suffers injuries after being attacked at Mohali; Yo Yo Honey Singh informs he is “out of danger”

Famous Punjabi singer Amanjot Singh Panwar aka Alfaaz Singh suffered injuries on Banur-Landran road on Saturday night. As the injured singer is hospitalised, singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh took to his verified social media handle and shared an update regarding the former’s health. In a note-post on the story section of his Instagram, Honey thanked Mohali police while stating that Alfaaz is “out of danger”.

In his story, the ‘Brown Rang’ singer wrote, “Special thnx to mohali police who caught the culprit who hit alfaaz with a tempo traveller on road lastnite @itsaslialfaaz is now out of danger too.” Hours before sharing the update, Honey posted an image on his media feed, which featured injured Alfaaz Singh hospitalised.

“My brother @itsaslialfaaz has been attacked last night, Whoever planned this Mother F***** I won't let u go !! Take my words !! Everyone pls pray for him.” However, he deleted the post after a few hours. On the other hand, The Tribune India reported further details of the incident.

As per the report, the Punjab Police has booked an accused named Vicky for hitting Amanjot Singh Panwar, “after an altercation between the singer, the eatery owner, and the suspect over money matters on Landran-Banur Road in Mohali.” The case has been registered under sections 279, 337, and 338 of the IPC. The singer is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Adipurush Ayodhya Event: Poster of Prabhas-starrer EMERGES from the River Sarayu; STUNS the audiences

Bollywood Hungama is in Ayodhya to cover the much-talked-about first look and teaser launch of Adipurush. The grand event, where nearly 10,000 people were present, was held at Ram Ki Paidi Ghat. At 7:11 PM, the poster of the film was unveiled in the presence of Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, director Om Raut and producer Bhushan Kumar.

However, the manner in which it was done stunned the onlookers, to say the least. The poster, which was 50 feet in size, emerged from inside the river Sarayu! The poster, as expected, was spectacular, but the manner in which it was unveiled, enhanced the impact by many notches.

The teaser was also shown on a wide screen installed on the stage. Both the poster and teaser were released after Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, director Om Raut and producer Bhushan Kumar came on the stage after walking from a specially constructed bridge on Sarayu.

Earlier in the day, Bollywood Hungama had visited the venue to have a look at the arrangements and we had revealed that 250 policemen and 200 bouncers have been deployed for security purposes, especially for the event.

Adipurush will release in cinemas on January 12, 2023 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

Ekta Kapoor’s lawyer refutes reports of warrants issued against producer, mother Shobha Kapoor in connection to XXX series

A court in Bihar had reportedly issued arrest warrants against film and TV producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor quite recently. This was on the charges of insulting soldiers and hurting the sentiments of their family members in her ALT Balaji web series XXX season 2. A complaint was filed by a resident and ex-servicemen from Begusarai, Shambhu Kumar. The court of Judge Vikas Kumar issued the arrest warrants. Now, her lawyer has refuted the reports and claimed that no warrants have been issued against the mother-daughter duo.

Reportedly, in a statement on Sunday, October 2, the lawyer representing Ekta said, "In the recent past, there have been news articles alleging the issuance of arrest warrants by a Magistrate Court in Begusarai, Bihar against Ms. Ekta Kapoor and Mrs Shobha Kapoor. These news articles which appear to have been made on the basis of alleged statements of the advocate for the individual who has filed the complaint are false and inaccurate as no arrest warrants have been received by Ms. Ekta Kapoor or Mrs. Shobha Kapoor.”

In the 2020 complaint, Shambhu Kumar alleged that the web series XXX season 2 had several objectionable scenes related to the wife of the soldier. "The series was aired on ALTBalaji, an OTT platform owned by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms Ltd. Shobha Kapoor is also associated with Balaji Telefilms," said Hrishikesh Pathak, the advocate of Shambhu Kumar, as reported by NDTV. He added, "The court had issued summons to them (Kapoors) and asked them to appear before it in connection with the matter. They (Kapoors), however, informed the court that certain scenes in the series were removed after the objection. But they did not appear before the court following which the warrant was issued against them."

XXX is a web series directed by Ken Ghosh (season 1) for the ALT Balaji platform owned by Ekta Kapoor. The series stars Kyra Dutt, Aparnaa Bajpai, Rithvik Dhanjani, Shantanu Maheshwari, Ankit Gera, Pryanca Talukdar and Aparna Sharma. Season 2 was directed by Akshay Choubey of Bekaboo.

BREAKING: 50 feet HUGE poster of Adipurush to be unveiled at Ayodhya; 10,000 fans expected at the event; 250 policemen deployed

Prominent journalists of media from Mumbai and Delhi have reached Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh for the poster and teaser launch of one of the most awaited films of 2023, Adipurush. Bollywood Hungama, too, has arrived at the holy town and looking at the arrangements, it seems like the event is going to be a highly memorable one.

The main event will be held today, that is, Sunday, October 2, at Ayodhya's Ram Ki Paidi Ghat. The poster and teaser will be unveiled at 7:11 PM in the presence of Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, director Om Raut and producer Bhushan Kumar. The District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police are also expected.

The media was taken to the venue in the afternoon and got some interesting information about how the event will unfold.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, "The team of the film will walk from a specially constructed bridge on the River Sarayu. They'll come on the stage after which a giant poster of the film, which is 50 feet in size, will be unveiled. Then on a screen, the teaser will be shown. Interestingly, the promo will be played in all the five versions - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam – one after another."

The source reveals that a first look event of this scale has never happened before for a film in India. The source stated, "Around 10,000 people are expected to witness the event. 250 policemen and 200 bouncers have been deployed. We are confident that this event will be talked about and will be remembered for years to come."

Bigg Boss 16: Sajid Khan enters Salman Khan's show; doesn't address sexual harassment allegations but says he became 'arrogant' after Housefull

Bigg Boss 16 is back with Salman Khan as the host. The new season, premiered on October 1 and saw Khan introduce the contestants. After months of anticipation, the viewers saw many known and unknown faces entering the Bigg Boss house. As a surprise for many, Sajid Khan was one of the celebrities to enter as a participant.

Sajid Khan was involved in MeToo allegations and several women had made sexual harassment allegations against him. But, he didn't address any of those moments. He said, "Last four years se main ghar par baitha hoon, not really getting much of work. Toh jab Colors ki team ne mujhe invite kiya toh I just felt ki it’s time ki main ghar mein bhi jaun, thoda apne baare mein bhi sikhu (I've sat at home for the last four years and wasn't getting much work. So when I was invited by Colors, I felt that it's time I should enter the house and learn more about myself.)”

Sajid Khan continued, “Maine zindagi main bohot utaar-chadhav dekhein hai. Pichhle chaar salon main bahut niche…(I have seen many ups and downs in life. Very low in the last four years…).” Salman Khan then interrupted the director and said, “Ek hi utaar dekha hai. Baaki chadhav hi chadhav dekhein hain (You've seen only one drop but have only see the ups)."

The Housefull director then added, “Ek bahut bada utaar dekha hain (I saw a huge drop too.)”

He continued, “Ek kahawat hai ‘Failure destroys people’, mere case main ‘Success destroyed me’. Meanwhile, Sajid Khan will direct John Abraham and Riteish Deshmukh in 100%. The said film is expected to be a comedy and will star Nora Fatehi and popular reality show contestant turned actress Shehnaaz Gill.

Salman Khan confirms Ram Charan's cameo in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

Salman Khan is currently busy with the shoot of Kisi Ka Bhai Ki Jaan. He recently confirmed that RRR actor Ram Charan is doing a cameo in the film. The actor, who is currently hosting Bigg Boss 16, said at the GodFather trailer launch in Mumbai that Charan wanted to be a part of the film.

“He (Ram Charan) came to see me and he said, ‘I want to do this.’ I told him, ‘no-no’. But he said ‘I want to be with you in the same frame.’ I thought he was just kidding, so I said we will talk about this tomorrow. And the next morning he got his vanity van, he even got his costume. He was there before us. So I asked him, ‘what are you doing?’ To which he said I just want to be here,” Salman said on Saturday.

Salman recalled, “That’s how he came into the film and we had a great time shooting.”

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is an action-packed entertainer directed by Farhad Samji and features Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde, and Venkatesh in lead with an ensemble cast. It is produced by Salman Khan Films and promises to have all the elements. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is slated to release at the end of 2022.

Did Hrithik Roshan hint at the POSSIBILITY of a sequel to Vikram Vedha?

The much awaited film Vikram Vedha finally released yesterday, on September 30. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, the action-entertainer has taken a slow start. But the terrific word of mouth and lack of strong competition till Diwali has made trade hopeful that it can excel at the box office in the long run.

Meanwhile, there has been a lot of demand for the sequel to Vikram Vedha. The first day reaction videos are full of viewers heaping praises for the film and demanding that Vikram Vedha's second part should be made.

Interestingly, Hrithik Roshan had hinted about a possible sequel in the offing at the song launch of 'Alcoholia' which took place two weeks back in Mumbai. The event was held in the presence of the film's team, comprising Hrithik, Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf, Yogita Bihani, director duo Pushkar-Gayatri and others.

Radhika Apte at this event jokingly remarked that she wished if she had got a chance to dance with Hrithik Roshan in the song 'Alcoholia'. To which, Hrithik replied, "For Radhika, we should start thinking about a sequel. Vikram, Vedha, Priya (Radhika Apte's character)...everyone will be on the same side and we can all dance on another song like 'Alcoholia' in part 2."

Yogita Bihani, who plays Chanda in Vikram Vedha, too raised laughs as she joked, "Main ro dungi. Mere saath dhokha hua hai. I was promised that I'll be a part of the song. I had learnt Kathak for 6 months. I was like 'Hrithik Roshan ke saath dance karna hai. Mera footwork right hona chahiye (laughs)!' Lekin mujhe nahi (mila dance karne)."

Hrithik Roshan also told her, "In Part 2, (you'll get a chance). Chanda (will be back), in some way. We'll figure out something."

In an interview during the promotions of Vikram Vedha, Hrithik Roshan had even said, "We have so many of such stories in our mythology and folklore. I think we need to re-look at this treasure, there’s so much fodder in there from a storytelling point of view."

A source told Bollywood Hungama, "Vikram Vedha is inspired from Vikram Betaal. It is a set of 25 stories. With the way Vikram Vedha ended, it won't be surprising if the makers think of taking the story forward."
