Amitabh Bachchan is back home & raring to get back to work

Eye surgery cannot deter the Amitabh Bachchan. Barely hours after surgery and his return home, the unstoppable mega-star is anxious to get back home. He is the only major star who has as many as five projects on hand in various stages of completion.

There is the now-complete and ready-for-release suspense thriller Chehre, to be followed by the sports epic Jhund and the mega sci-fi thriller Brahmastra where he shares screen space for the first time with his favourite contemporary actor Ranbir Kapoor. While Chehre needs Mr Bachchan’s time for promotion, Jhund is in post-production and would still require shooting dates from the actor. Brahmastra is a long way from being completed.

In addition, Mr Bachchan has a guest appearance in Queen, the Kannada remake of Vikas Bahl’s Queen.

It all adds up to a whole lot of work. And health setbacks are a big stumbling block.

Says a close friend of the family, “Amitji just refuses to slow down. Health cannot stop him. His family keeps telling him to take it easy. But he won’t listen.”

In an earlier interview when I had asked the mega-star to slow down his response was : “It’s all about time management. And please don’t ask me to slow down. I am not here to conquer peaks or design a formula for success. I am here to do a job. I need to work, I like to work and I am fortunate that there are some that consider me for work. In time nature shall diminish me and my body. But until it does so, I wish to continue! You got a problem with that?”

Newsbreak: Aamir Khan shelves Mahabharat

S S Rajamouli can breathe easy. When I last spoke to him he seemed a little concerned about Aamir Khan beating him to directing a screen version of the Mahabharat.

After almost two years of rigorous research on the subject and a determination to do justice to the epic saga, Aamir has decided to shelve his plans for making Mahabharat, at least for now.

“Aamir can’t afford to devote two years of his life to make a web series (Mahabharat was planned as a web series). He needs to quickly announce his presence in a big star-studded feature film directed by a reliable director,” says the source, adding that the decision to set aside Mahabharat was not only commerce-based.

“There were bound to be unsavoury controversies surrounding the project. Aamir feels now is not the right time to make the Mahabharat,” says the source.

Significantly, Aamir had opted out of astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s bio-pic to concentrate on his dream project the Mahabharat. Aamir had generously passed on the Rakesh Sharma project to Shah Rukh Khan.

Yami Gautam opens up about how she suffered a life-threatening injury during her university days

Yami Gautam, who has made a considerable mark on the industry with her performances in films like Vicky Donor, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and Bala, has been one of the fittest actresses in the industry. However, at one point, Yami Gautam was told that she would never be able to work out in her life, due to which she resorted to Yoga. During the lockdown, Yami Gautam had written an extensive post, opening up about a neck injury that led her to minimalize her fitness regime.

The actress said that during her university days in Chandigarh when she was travelling by a two-wheeler, a driver ahead of her gave a wrong signal and ended up knocking her. While the driver fled from the spot, a man pulled over and helped her get to the hospital. She did not get any external injuries due to the layered clothing during the winters, however, she suffered a fracture in her neck and the doctor had told her that she will never be able to work out. Yami Gautam, at that time, was planning to pursue a career in IAS.

As for her profession now, she says she wants to be thorough and be on her toes but the walking in five-inches of heels resurfaces the pain sometimes. She has been taking precautions to avoid relapse and says that she is getting better with Yoga. She further encouraged people to take road safety seriously and also requested them not to judge others on the basis of their looks.

Gal Gadot and husband Yaron Varsano expecting third child; Wonder Woman actress shares cute family photo

Good news is on the way for Gal Gadot and husband Yaron Varsano and their family! The couple is expecting their third child together. The actress, who presented at the Golden Globes 2021 award ceremony on Sunday night, took to social media to make the announcement.

Gal Gadot, who was wearing a white outfit, was resting on the couch alongside her husband and two daughters. Keeping her hand on her baby bump, she wrote, "Here we go again ❤."

Gal Gadot married Israeli real estate developer Yaron Varsano in 2008. They welcomed their first daughter in 2011 and second daughter in 2017.

SCOOP: Suniel Shetty's son, Ahan's debut, Tadap to release in September 2021?

Bollywood Hungama has been the first to reveal that Sajid Nadiadwala will announce the release dates of Tadap and Heropanti 2 tomorrow. We also revealed how Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan might be the two people to announce Ahan Shetty's entry in Bollywood on Twitter. And now, we have exclusively learnt that the much awaited actioner, which is the remake of RX 100, will hit the big screen in the month of September 2021.

"Tadap is looking to release on September 24, and it's going to be announced first by none other than Akshay Kumar. A first look poster is also expected," revealed a source close to the development. This will be the last collaboration of Sajid Nadiadwala, with Fox Star Studios. It is directed by Milan Luthria and features Tara Sutaria as the female lead. 

Sajid Nadiadwala is also announcing the release date of Heropanti 2, which is targeting an opening in the cinema halls for 3rd December. This announcement is being made on account of Tiger Shroff's birthday. The movie goes on the floors in the month of March in Mumbai. Keep on reading Bollywood Hungama for more industry updates.

SCOOP: Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar to announce Suniel Shetty's son, Ahan's Tadap release date?

On Monday morning, Sajid Nadiadwala announced that he will be making two big announcements on Tuesday between 10 am and 12 noon.  The same has put the entire industry guessing as to what the filmmaker will announce. Bollywood Hungama then exclusively revealed that Sajid will make it official about the release date of his two films - Tadap, which marks the debut of Ahan Shetty and Heropanti 2, which is a sequel to Tiger Shroff's debut film.

And now, we have got an additional input on the same. "Two of Sajid's best friends, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan may announce Tadap tomorrow, passing on their good wishes to Suniel Shetty's son, Ahan. The idea is to reveal the release date of the film as also the arrival of Ahan to the Hindi film industry. Trust Sajid to turn even Ahan into a star, just like Tiger," the source told us.

Salman and Akshay go a long way with not just Sajid but also Suniel and they agreed on the announcement in a blink. Apart from the 2, even Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan are expected to tweet for Ahan and welcome him to the industry.  The Tadap announcement aside, Sajid, through his official production house handle will make an announcement about the release date of Heropanti 2.

Disney+ Hotstar’s new web series Kamathipura is suspenseful, mysterious and dark; trailer out now

Stepping into the world of crime and mystery yet again, Disney+ Hotstar, India’s largest premium streaming platform is all set to launch another nail-biting, dark and haunting fictional web series, Kamathipura, that is sure to keep viewers at the edge of their seats. Set in and around Mumbai's infamous red-light area, the trailer of Kamathipura was launched today.

Presenting a sneak peek into a cop's pursuit to unearth the mystery around a serial killer who kills women, the series revolves around the challenges faced by a lady officer in solving the cases. In her quest to find the killer, the story unveils how each murder haunts the officer in her own life. Starring Meera Chopra in a strong role of a daunting and relentless police officer and Tanuj Virwani as the dreaded antagonist, the 7-episode series also features screen veterans- Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Anang Desai, in prominent roles.

"I loved playing inspector Anjali Dangle. The adrenaline rush that one gets by doing something dark and twisted is unparalleled I feel. I’m extremely excited for this one," says Meera Chopra.

"I was very excited when Shravan Sir came to me with this script, because I have never been offered to play an antagonist before," says Tanuj Virwani

Varun Dhawan roped in as the brand ambassador of OPPO India’s F19 series smartphones

Actor Varun Dhawan has added one more well-known brand to his list of brand endorsements. Oppo India has announced that the Badlapur actor will be the brand ambassador of their next generation of smartphones in its popular F-series which is all set to launch.

Oppo India has reportedly confirmed that their smartphones OPPO F19 Pro+ 5G and F19 Pro come with the tagline 'Flaunt the Nights'. The brand has announced Varun Dhawan as the series ambassador.

In 2019, OPPO India had announced Ranbir Kapoor as their brand icon and had roped in Katrina Kaif and Badshah as 'brand friends' for the Reno series of OPPO. The three were seen sharing screen for an ad film of OPPO India.

Meanwhile, the OPPO F19 series will be launched in India pretty soon. The launch might happen soon as the phones are now listed on Amazon India.

Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3 likely to be shot in U.A.E, Istanbul and Europe

News of the third instalment in the Tiger franchise has been doing the rounds since the success of the first two films. Yash Raj Films had even confirmed that a third film in the franchise featuring Salman Khan was being planned. In fact, the team even commenced work on the project with director Maneesh Sharma at the helm. Now we hear that YRF, who have been leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the third film is bigger than the preview two have zeroed in on three overseas locations to shoot Tiger 3.

“Yash Raj Films is looking to make Tiger 3 on an even bigger and grander scale than the first two, and for this reason viewers will be treated to plenty of action, drama and of course exotic locations. Currently like most films that shoot overseas, YRF has zeroed in on three potential overseas destinations viz. U.A.E, Istanbul and Europe to shoot Tiger 3”, says a well-placed trade source.

Interestingly, while all three destinations hold promise, the source tells us that Istanbul seems to be the front runner currently when it comes to locations. “Istanbul offers immense concessions and ease of permissions to film units that are looking to shoot big budget ventures that will depict their country.” With Istanbul offering exotic locales with stunning views, and concessions to filmmakers our source claims that this location is the frontrunner currently for the first schedule.

As for the film, Tiger 3 that stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi is being directed by Maneesh Sharma. Said to take the story of Tiger forward the film is being readied for release in 2022.

EXCLUSIVE: Release date announcement and poster launch of Tara Sutaria-Ahan Shetty’s Tadap and Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2 tomorrow

Housefull producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s production house Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment made an announcement on Monday stating that not one but two announcements will be made on the 2nd of March. The fans will have to be around from 10 AM to 12 noon to be sure they catch up with what is next from the banner.

The tweet read, “A special moment we all have been waiting for ♥. Stay tuned tomorrow from 10 AM to 12 Noon for roller coaster ride #SajidNadiadwala @wardakhannadiadwala @foxstarhindi #FoxStarStudios.”

According to our sources, “The two announcements will be related to their upcoming lineup. As production houses are taking a bet on theatres and announcing release dates, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment will announce the release date of Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2 – the film that brings the actor back with the banner. Taking his debut franchise forward, Tara Sutaria will be starring opposite him for the second time after Student Of The Year 2. Interestingly, it is also Tiger’s birthday on March 2^nd, so the makers are keen to share more details!”

The source further added, “They will also announce the release date of Tadap, RX 100 remake, starring Tara Sutaria and Ahan Shetty. This film marks the debut of Suniel Shetty’s son as Milan Luthria directs the project. Along with both the announcements, the makers will also unveil first look posters to get the excitement rolling amongst the fans!”

Meanwhile, this isn’t the only film Tiger Shroff is doing with Sajid Nadiadwala’s production. He is also starring Baaghi 4 which will mark the return of Ahmed Khan as the director.

Mumbai court issues bailable warrant against Kangana Ranaut in defamation case filed by Javed Akhtar

On Monday, a Mumbai court issued a bailable warrant against Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut after she failed to appear before the court in a defamation case filed by poet-lyricist Javed Akhtar. The court had issued a summon to the actress a month ago.

Javed Akhtar in his complaint had alleged that Ranaut made defamatory statements on national and international television. He alleged that "it appears to be a clear campaign to malign and tarnish the reputation of the complainant (Akhtar) in the eyes of the general public”. The court had summoned Kangana based on this complaint. Akhtar had recorded his statement in January.

Akhtar had said that he was shocked to see Ranaut make false and derogatory statements on national television in an interview on July 19. He said that she attributed statements to him which were false and also gave her opinion on Sushant Singh Rajput's death "without appearing to have any direct personal knowledge of the circumstances around his death”.

The court had also directed the Juhu police to conduct an inquiry and they have now also submitted a detailed report to the court as well.

On February 1, the Andheri Court after hearing arguments made by lawyer Niranjan Mundergi on behalf of his client Akhtar issued a process against Ranaut for offences under sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal code pertaining to defamation. Legally, Ranaut had the option of either challenging the court's order summoning her or appear before it and deny the charges made against her.

Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal to release 5 days after Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone-starrer Fighter

The top 2 grossers of 2019 were Kabir Singh, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and War, directed by Siddharth Anand. And now both these filmmakers are going to come up with two exciting films in 2022 and what’s more, both films would be releasing too close to each other in cinemas.

Siddharth Anand is busy shooting for Pathan at present, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. After wrapping up this Yash Raj Films (YRF) production, he’ll move on to Fighter. This aerial action flick reunites him with his War and Bang Bang (2014) actor Hrithik Roshan and also his Pathan heroine, Deepika Padukone. The film was announced on Hrithik Roshan’s birthday this year, on January 10, and it immediately led to a lot of excitement. The same day, the makers also revealed that the film would release on September 30, 2022, to take advantage of the Gandhi Jayanti national holiday on Sunday, October 2. Coincidentally, the last 2 films of Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan together also released in the same week.

Meanwhile, today, it was announced that the much talked about film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, would release on Dussehra 2022. The holy festival, however, falls on Wednesday October 5. In other words, Animal would release 5 days after the release of Fighter!

Animal is also a biggie and its teaser video, which was released on the first day of 2021, created frenzy. Its star cast, comprising Ranbir Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, also added to the excitement. And the fact that it’s the next film of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, after the monstrous Kabir Singh, which collected Rs. 278.24 crore, has made Animal a hot commodity.

We have seen two big films releasing together but such an arrangement is rare. It’ll be interesting to see how both these films manage to excel at the box office and most importantly, manage to get adequate screens.

The gorgeous actress had been working hard to stay on top of her prep game for the film as she had been taking lots of workshops and doing regular reading sessions. And now she finally begins the shoot today.

Disha and Mohit will be reuniting after Malang. Now everyone is excited to see what the duo creates this time. Disha Patani also has Radhe all set for release besides Ek Villain 2 this year.

T-Series took to their Twitter handle to share pictures from first day of the shoot where actor John Abraham and Disha Patani are seen posing with the rest of the team including Mohit Suri and Bhushan Kumar. The film also stars Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria.
