After Jawaani Jaaneman, Pooja Entertainment signs Alaya F for yet another film

The announcement of Alaya F signing her first movie, Jawaani Jaaneman in itself had created an immense buzz all across. Basking in the glory of great reviews and appreciation that she has earned with her first, there is another surprise for the audience. Alaya F has signed her second film with Pooja Entertainment, the process of which was underway before the release of Jawaani Jaaneman.

The makers of her first, Pooja Films have signed Alaya F for another film after Jawani Jaaneman. Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment shares, “It was a delight to work with Alaya in our first project together. The team has always found promise in her artistry and believed she would do wonders. We are happy to have Alaya be part of our next project as well. It is too soon to reveal details about the project, but the entire team is excited to have her be part of our family, once again”.

Alaya F, sharing her excitement says, “I enjoyed working with Pooja Entertainment. They’re wonderful people. It is my pleasure to do another movie with them. They are doing incredible work in the industry, and have been producing some great content”.

The audience has appreciated Alaya F’s performance in Jawaani Jaaneman. The reviews are all talking about the spunk and calibre that the actress displays. Acing on every front, from acting to dance, Alaya has emerged as a promising debutant with her first itself.

Her dedication is evident in her interviews, and her good conduct has also been talked about. With her debut film, Alaya has managed to leave a strong impact on the audience.

Alaya F made her silver screen debut with Jawaani Jaaneman alongside Saif Ali Khan and Tabu and the movie released on 31st of January 2020. Up next will be Pooja Entertainment’s second film starring the actress and we can’t wait for more details.

PIL demands stay on Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara, production house responds

On Tuesday, a Public Interest Litigation was filed at the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, demanding a stay on the release of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara, a film that revolves around the exodus of the Kashmiti Pandits from the valley. The official handle of his production house, on Twitter, announced that they learned about the PIL from media sources and their legal counsel will be handling the matter.

"We have just learnt from media sources that a petition has been filed in the Hon. J&K HC against the release of #Shikara . We have no other information about the matter. Our counsel #HarishSalve will take appropriate steps as may be required," the tweet reads.

Reportedly, petitioners Iftikhar Misgar, Majid Hyderi and Irfan Hafiz Lone demanded a stay on the film, asking the makers to delete a few scenes that allegedly present the Muslims of the valley in a bad light.

After Loki, Tom Hiddleston to star in a political thriller by Netflix called White Stork

Besides headlining the Disney + series Loki, Tom Hiddleston is taking on a Netflix political thriller, White Stork, formerly known as Spadehead. The series has received 10 episode order. It will be created, written and executive produced by Christopher Dunlop and directed by Kristoffer Nyholm.

Deadline reports, "In White Stork, when James Cooper (Hiddleston) is selected to run for a seat in parliament, Asher Millan is sent to vet him for primetime. But she quickly uncovers potentially damaging secrets buried deep in James’ past. Secrets that will threaten to blow everything apart – his career, his marriage, even the powerful people backing his campaign."

Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston will reprise the role of Loki in the Disney + limited series which will air in December this year.

Harrison Ford to star in Indiana Jones 5 to be directed by Steven Spielberg

Veteran actor Harrison Ford is returning to the iconic franchise, Indiana Jones. The actor will be reprising the role in Indiana Jones 5 that will be directed by Steven Spielberg.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed to BBC News on Sunday (February 1) stating, "We’re working away, getting the script where we want it to be and then we’ll be ready to go."

“Harrison Ford will be involved, yeah. It’s not a reboot; it’s a continuation. He can't wait," she further said.

Indiana Jones 5 is expected to release in 2021.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull released back in 2008. Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Shia LaBeouf, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, and Jim Broadbent are also part of the supporting cast. In 1957, archaeologist and adventurer Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones, Jr. is called back into action and becomes entangled in a Soviet plot to uncover the secret behind mysterious artifacts known as the Crystal Skulls.

Makers of Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad include their mother’s names in the credit list

This comes as a special tribute where the director Anubhav Sinha and producer Bhushan Kumar dedicate this inclusion as a tribute to their mothers.

While the director’s name that flashes is Anubhav Sushila Sinha, Bhushan Sudesh Kumar’s name also presents itself as a pleasant surprise to everyone. The film touches upon a very relevant subject of respect in relationships where a ‘slap’ never should find its space. The gripping trailer released recently has caught the attention of the audience all across.

Touted to be a film which is this year’s Pink, Thappad is all set to continue the league of highlighting gut-wrenching subjects and is inspired by real-life events. With back to back significant and thought-provoking subjects, Thappad will be Anubhav Sinha’s hattrick of impactful films.

Alia Bhatt talks financial planning; says she wishes to own private jet

Alia Bhatt entered the film industry as a teenager and achieved success at a very young age. The 26-year-old actress, however, comes across as a sensible person and her financial planning reflects her sensibilities.

In an interview with a magazine, Alia said that she knows how to live within a budget and invests in bonds and mutual funds. The actress said that she does not spend much and even her chartered accountant often asks her as to why she does not spend more.

Alia also said that she was frugal with her expenses even as a teenager. As a child, she would accompany her mother and sister to London, the only place they went as kids. The Highway actress said that she would often go to a store called Primark, a budget store in UK, to buy stuff in 5 to 6 pounds. She said that she prefers to by her pyjamas from Primark even now.

Alia Bhatt said that she still does not understand financial investments, but over the years has become keen to learn more. The actress said that her home in Mumbai is the first property she bought.

However, the actor said she does splurge every now and then especially on bags and holidays. Alia recalls that the first expensive thing she bought as a teenager was a Louis Vuitton bag from her own money. The actress who also enjoys spending on holidays said she takes one holiday a year and spends on the destination and the hotel. Alia wishes to own a private jet and a home in the mountains.

Sonam Kapoor clarifies on the viral photo of Anil Kapoor with Dawood Ibrahim

Sonam Kapoor is avid social media user and these days, she has been speaking up on all the issues surrounding the country especially around the current political climate. The actress has been giving befitting replies to trolls and is using her voice to speak on the issues.

Recently, Sonam Kapoor urged the politicians to stop divisive politics which is dangerous. She wrote, “This is something that I never imagined would happen in India. Stop this divisive dangerous politics. It fuels HATE. If you believe yourself to be a Hindu then understand that the religion is about Karma and dharma and this is not either of those.”

A netizen responded to the same tweet and sarcastically asked what her father Anil Kapoor was doing with Dawood Ibrahim in the viral photo that has been circulating on the internet for years now.

Trailer of Doordarshan receives an overwhelming response making it one of the most awaited films this year

Arya Films unveiled the trailer or their upcoming film, Doordarshan on 29th Jan, and this Mahie Gill, Manu Rishi Chadha and Dolly Ahluwalia starrer has clearly managed to tickle the funny bone. With its quirky one liners and relatable setting and unexpected twists, the audience are eagerly waiting for release of the film. After the trailer went viral, the internet is flooded with memes and there is a lot of buzz around the film.

The story of the film revolves around a grandmother played by National award-winning veteran actress Dolly Ahluwalia, who was comatose since 1989. In 2019, suddenly she regains consciousness and is unable to process the time gap and transition from the world of Doordarshan to the Digital era. Then to help her cope, the whole family tries to recreate 1989 in 2019!

Singer Badshah meets with an accident in Punjab?

As per reports, singer Badshah met with an accident in Punjab's Ludhiana, while shooting for a film. On National Highway 1 between Sirhind and Mandi Gobindgarh, the car crash reportedly took place, and one of the cars belonged to Badshah. A number of cars piled up on the spot after the accident.

The rapper was shooting with friend Ammy Virk when the mishap happened. While the bonnet of his car was damaged, he himself escaped unhurt after the airbags of his car opened, therefore saving him. However, Badshah is yet to give a confirmation about this.

About two weeks back, Bollywood actor Shabana Azmi, who was traveling to Pune by road with husband Javed Akhtar, also fell prey to a road accident after their car rammed into a truck. Shabana, who was immediately rushed to a Panvel hospital and was then shifted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital, is now doing fine and has returned home.

Ayushmann Khurrana has created a genre of his own with his unique film choices. He says Imtiaz Ali’s movie has given him a chance to explore the versatility and since he is a romantic at heart, being roped in for this film was great. For his role as Raghu in the film, he had to work really hard on his body language including the way he blinks and smiles. After Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, he had a few options to choose from so he knew he wanted to try something different and new. He is glad that the producers have faith in him to carry a film on his shoulders as he gears up for projects back-to-back.

After Love Aaj Kal’s release on February 14, Kartik Aaryan will be seen in Dostana 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Anil Kapoor talks about sporting tattoos in Malang and reveals stories about Harshvardhan and Sonam Kapoor’s tattoos

Anil Kapoor has never shied away from experimenting when it comes to his roles. The man is known for his fitness and mysterious young looks for a 63-year-old. Sporting tattoos for the first time in a movie, Anil Kapoor will be seen with temporary tattoos in Mohit Suri’s Malang. The actor, in a recent interview, spoke about the skulls that he will be seen sporting on his forearms for the upcoming thriller. He said that finalising the tattoos for the film was not an overnight decision and that it required a lot of thinking.

He came across a local artiste in London who asked him a lot about his behaviour and thought processes. He did not realise that the tattoo artistes dig that deep before inking you, while it did not work out with the artist in London, they finalised one in Mumbai. Anil also revealed how the tattoos reveal his character, Anjaney Agashe’s energy, remind him of the past and present and a reason to live.

Speaking further on getting inked permanently, he revealed that his wife warned him that if he ever got inked, he won’t be allowed in the house! He pointed out that only his son Harshvardhan and daughter Sonam have tattoos in their family. While Harshvardhan has both his sisters’ names inked on each shoulder, Sonam got a tattoo without informing anyone while she was in Singapore!

Malang is slated to release on February 7 starring Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Kunal Kemmu.

Sajid Nadiadwala ties up with Sony Pictures for Akshay Kumar's Bachchan Pandey - Exclusive Details

A week back, Sajid Nadiadwala announced that his next film with Akshay Kumar, Bachchan Pandey will hit the big screen during the Republic Day 2020 weekend. The film goes on the floors in May, and we have learnt that Sajid has signed a deal with Sony Pictures India. “Sajid has sold the worldwide theatrical rights of the film to Sony Pictures India for a huge amount, and the studio is now on board as a co-producer. They are in talks to sign on multiple Sajid Nadiadwala projects, but for now, it’s only Bachchan Pandey,” revealed a source close to the development. Akshay's golden run played a huge role in the sale of distribution rights for a handsome amount.

For Bachchan Pandey, Sajid has taken a break from his usual partner, Fox Star Studio, and sources confirm that the two couldn’t reach a consensus on financial terms. “After Disney has taken-over Fox Star Studios, they wanted to acquire not just the distribution rights of the film but also retain the Intellectual Property Rights. Despite making lucrative financial offers, Sajid on the other hand, wasn’t keen to part ways from Digital, Music and Satellite rights, which is the reason why he has gone ahead to sign a mere distribution deal with Sony,” the source explained.

Bachchan Pandey marks the fourth collaboration of Akshay Kumar with Farhad Samji after Entertainment and Housefull 3 and Housefull 4. The film features Kriti Sanon as the female lead and Akshay’s look created a stir online. “The look of the film has created huge excitement among cine-goers and the makers are working day and night on the script to ensure that the film lives onto the hype. It presents Akshay like never before,” the source signed off. The film is currently in the pre-production stage.
