Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan: Censor Board won’t touch Ayushmann Khurrana’s smooch with Jitendra Kumar

Ayushmann Khurrana and his onscreen gay partner Jitendra Kumar can exhale now. Their smacking smooch in Indian cinema’s first mainstream  gay film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is not only intact in the trailer, it will also go scot-free in the film itself.

Says a source close to the CBFC, “No member of the censor board had any objection to the same-sex kiss in the trailer. However, the expletive that Gajraj Rao (playing Jitendra Kumar’a father) utters when he sees his son kissing with his male lover, has been beeped.”

Says a source close to producer Aanand  Rai, “Aanand was very apprehensive about the kiss. He wanted a ‘U’ certificate for the trailer of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. And for that he was anxious that the CBFC would ask for the kiss to be removed. But no one objected to the kiss, only to the swear word that Gajraj Rao utters when the kiss happens.”

According to very reliable sources, the CBFC has no plans of removing the kiss from the film when it is presented to the CBFC. “They are looking at it as a love story, not a GAY love story, a sure sign that the censor board in India has evolved,” says the source.

In all likelihood, the film will walk into the theatres with a ‘UA’ certificate which means curious children accompanied by adults can ask why Ayushmann Khurrana is kissing that uncle on his lips. And the parents better have an answer ready.

EXCLUSIVE: Sunny Deol makes his digital debut with ZEE5's web series titled G 49

Actor Sunny Deol who was last seen in the film Blank is all set to make his digital debut with a Zee 5 production. The actor has already started shooting for the series in Madh Island in Mumbai.

The show is titled G 49 and will present Deol in his action avatar. Further details of the show are awaited.

Sunny is currently the Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur of Punjab State. He recently launched his son Karan Deol in his directorial titled Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. The film, however, failed to impress the audiences.

Scoop: Shahid Kapoor to feature in a patriotic film backed by Dharma Productions

Shahid Kapoor is presently working on Jersey, a Hindi remake of Gowtham Tinnanuri's super hit Telugu film with the same name. While he puts his best foot forward for this one, we hear Karan Johar's banner has already signed him for a new project.

A little birdie informs us that the film, a patriotic one, will be helmed by a newcomer director. The rest of the cast is yet under the wraps. Shahid, who wants to invest undivided attention on Jersey, will begin shooting once Jersey wraps up.

The actor was last seen in Kabir Singh, the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy, which proved to be a smashing success, also putting an end to his drought of hit films. Looking at the line-up, one can safely assume that his winning streak is to continue.

Jersey, also starring Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor in pivotal roles, is slated to release on 28th August.

Kartik Aaryan to collaborate with Tanhaji director Om Raut for his first action film?

Kartik Aaryan's last release Pati Patni Aur Woh did impressive business. The actor, at present, is on a promotional spree for his upcoming release Love Aaj Kal, alongside Sara Ali Khan. And we hear he has already bagged a new, meaty project!

If a recent report is to be believed, then Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior director Om Raut has offered Kartik a project that the actor has liked and given his nod to. This will be Kartik's first action flick. The makers are yet to zero on an actress' name for the project.

While Kartik has been mostly known for his romantic and comedy films, it will be interesting to see how he preps for an action film. Given that we don't quite imagine him as an action hero, we are waiting to see how this unfolds!

At present, the actor is filming for Dostana 2, alongside Janhvi Kapoor and newcomer Lakshya. In his kitty, he also has Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which also stars Kiara Advani and Tabu.

Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures to jointly produce the remake of 2019’s Tamil blockbuster Kaithi in Hindi. Kaithi, is a tense action thriller, released last Diwali. After the excellent reviews of Jawaani Jaaneman, Jackky Bhagnani, and Nitin Kakkar team up again for a sports drama. Producer Jackky Bhagnani and director Nitin Kakkar have not stopped smiling ever since the release of their latest flick Jawaani Jaaneman that released last Friday. The film marks the debut of Alaya F. and features Saif Ali Khan and Tabu and has received rave reviews at the box office.

Jackky Bhagnani is so elated with the response of the film that he is collaborating yet again with the director Nitin Kakkar. Both Jackky and Nitin will team up for a sports drama soon. The film right now is in the scripting stages and will go on floors by the end of the year.

Jackky says “I have always loved Nitin Sir’s work and it makes me very happy that we at Pooja Entertainment are collaborating with him yet again. Right now the film is in the scripting stage, I have always wanted to make a sports drama, and it couldn't have been better than doing this with Nitin Kakkar.”

Sara Ali Khan says she was hurt when people termed her performance in Love Aaj Kal as 'overacting'

Sara Ali Khan is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Love Aaj Kal directed by Imtiaz Ali. In an interview with Film Companion, Sara revealed that harsh critic for Love Aaj Kal trailer hurt her. The actress said that she does not mind when people judge her for her weight or fashion choices but it does affect her when they criticize her for her acting skills.

Soon after the release of the trailer of Imtiaz Ali's next also starring Kartik Aaryan, netizens heavily trolled the film for its plot and performance. Most of the trolls were targeted towards Sara Ali Khan's overacting. Fans were disappointed at Sara for seemingly hamming through a scene. However, Sara says she was actually crying while shooting for the scene.

Talking about the scene, Sara said that she knew what her character was feeling in the moment. The actress said that they were not allowed to see the monitor and so she had no idea what the scene looked like. She further said that she spoke to Imtiaz Ali about the same and believes that what happened is also because she did not look good in that.

Talking further about getting trolled for overacting, she said that she was not only aware of what her character had to feel but Imtiaz Ali made her feel exactly what Zoe had to feel at that point in time. Sara Ali Khan said that it can also be blamed on the fact that viewers expect actresses to always look good on screen.

 Love Aaj Kal will release on February 14. Sara also has Coolie No.1 with Varun Dhawan and Atrangi Re with Akshay Kumar and Dhanush.

Bhumi Pednekar goes the extra mile for her spotboy, empowers her to start a new business

An actor par excellence is not the only thing that defines this leading lady. The actress who had a great run at the box office last year having delivered Rs.  300 crore gross did the sweetest gesture for her spot boy, Upendra Singh of supporting him start a vanity van business.

“Upender ji has been with me for the last 4 years. I literally started my career with him and he is like family. When we were shooting for Saand Ki Aankh and travelling, I had a random thought where I told him why don’t you start a business and look at building vanity vans as an option? So, he wasn’t sure how to begin this but he always wanted to start something of his own for his children. I gave him a pep talk about it and asked him to think through it and see what can we do to work towards it”, said Bhumi.

Bhumi has given Upendra financial and emotional support and enabled him to start his own venture - a gesture that is incredibly sweet. Upendra’s company has made the first vanity van for Bhumi.

She adds, “I honestly feel that everyone should get opportunities in life. And he is someone I really cannot survive without and whatever little I can do for him I’ll keep doing. He has now started a company called Akash Vanity (Akash is his son’s name). So, he has put up his first vanity van and he has done it for me and has really worked hard on it. I am so proud of him and I really hope that it started off with one van and it goes up to 100 vans because he is such a genuine guy. He is always been there for me, looked out for me. It feels like a personal victory to see him grow in life. I have supported him in whatever way I can and he is a very hard-working and honest man. He will be working on more vans and is looking at renting them out to production houses.”

Upendra Singh said, “Maine vanity van ke business ke baare mein kaafi time se socha hua tha, par jab Bhumi didi ne mujhe motivate kiya iss idea ke baare mein tab maine apni company shuru karne ka decision liya. Aage maine yahi plan kiya hai ki main vanity van vendor banoon. Mein humesha didi ka naam lunga ki unke support se maine apna business, apni pehli van tyaar ki. Aur mein Bhumi didi ka tahey dil se shukriyada karta hoon. Aur upar waale se yahi dua karta hoon ki bhumi didi jo bhi picture kare woh picture super hit hoye.”

Talking about how they both worked together on the look and feel of the van, Bhumi said, “He has customised the van with my initials and devoted a lot of time in doing it up. It’s very colorful, has stained glass, pink walls and feels home away from home.”

Disha Patani talks about the challenges of shooting underwater for Malang

One of the most talked-about things from Malang is the underwater kiss performed by Disha Patani and Aditya Roy Kapur. Talking more about the same, Disha says that, "It was very difficult to shoot the scene because we would be underwater for literally 10 hours! And, the entire shoot was for almost 12 to 14 hours. Staying underwater and giving those expressions, being in character was quite a bit of a challenge.”

She further adds, “Adi and I trained for about 2 to 3 days with a proper coach before we actually shot for the underwater sequence!" Malang has been in total buzz and is the talk of the town because of the mysterious trailer and songs that are the sure short party hits of the year and how each character is unique and different and the trailer has the excitement alive.

From the looks of the trailer, Disha is truly a package of hotness, innocence and literally seems like the soul of Malang. Donning a bikini-clad avatar and looking every bit gorgeous in every frame, Disha is exuding boho vibes which makes her character very interesting. Her character in the film stays very undisclosed despite the many shades that we are seeing.

The actress on the work front has a stellar line up with Mohit Suri's Malang hitting the theatres on 7th February 2020. Teaming up with Salman Khan again, Disha will be romancing Salman Khan on the big screen with Radhe and followed by Ekta Kapoor's KTina.

Kunal Kemmu talks about doing a gig with Saif Ali Khan; says they are not that good

Apart from being actors, another thing that is common between brothers-in-law Kunal Kemmu and Saif Ali Khan is that both enjoy playing the guitar. When asked during an interview about performing a gig with Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu said that he is not sure whether they are good enough.

The actor feels that music is an integral part of everyone's life and that everybody is a bathroom singer. The actor said that it is how he started and is not trained and so thinks that he is not great. Kunal further said that he picked up the guitar as he had always wanted to play that instrument. Kunal Kemmu said that he learned to play the guitar by learning from videos on the internet and plays and sings for his friends now and then. The Malang actor said that he has romanticized the idea of playback singing but never came to a point of seriously discussing it with someone.

Kunal Kemmu is currently gearing up for the release of Malang in which he will be seen alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani and Anil Kapoor. The film is slated to hit the theatres on February 7.

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK to direct the Indian version of Priyanka Chopra Jonas starrer Citadel

It was recently announced that Priyanka Chopra Jonas will next be seen starring in Citadel with Richard Madden. The series will be produced by Avengers fame directors, Joe and Anthony Russo and will have versions from India, Mexico, and Italy. For the Indian version of the series, The Family Man fame directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have been roped in and the duo is ecstatic for the project.

Speaking on the same, Raj and DK have expressed how excited they were to get on board with this project. They had been in talks regarding this project for the past 6 months while The Family Man was still on the edit table. While Priyanka Chopra Jonas will be a part of the US series, Raj and DK confirmed that she will not be a part of the Indian version and this will have a pan-Indian cast that they will start looking for once the script is locked in by the end of this month. They have been given 90% creative freedom to explore different ideas in the plot.

This is just as big as it gets as the director duo is working on season two of The Family Man.

There is also a couple shown in the trailer who gets inside the boat just for fun. They too experience a few paranormal activities. From what we could understand by the trailer, we think Vicky will be possessed by the ghost in the ship who will trouble her to several extents.
