Himanshu Soni joins the cast of Zee TV’s Kyunki… Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai

Zee TV recently introduced a thought-provoking new fiction show – ‘Kyunki… Saas Maa, Bahu Beti Hoti Hai’ produced by Guroudev Bhalla Screens LLP. The story takes viewers to Gujarat, where amidst a vibrant Navratri celebration, a storm begins to brew within the Rajgaur family of Surat when the youngest bahu – which results in the matriarch of the family takes a drastic step.  Apart from an ensemble cast including veteran actress Manasi Joshi Roy and young actress Navika Kotia, the story has also introduced actor Himanshu Soni as Kabeer who will play a pivotal role in the show as Kesar’s friend.

Himanshu Soni will be seen as the charming Kabeer who possesses a talent for storytelling. He can be impulsive at times and tends to show off a bit. To support himself, he takes on various small jobs. He is a clever worker who excels at finding innovative solutions to the most difficult problems. He firmly believes in taking advantage of opportunities as they present themselves. On bagging this role, Himanshu said, “I am glad to be back on Zee TV with an exciting show like Kyunki… Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai. When I was offered this show, I got very excited about the concept and storyline and decided to immediately say yes to it. My character Kabeer is a little different from what I have played before, he is someone with a lot of swag and charm. He is not someone who will get stuck in situations because he is quick to find an innovative solution to any problem. Working with Manasi Ma'am and Navika is going to be a lot of fun because they both are very talented actors. I'm excited to see how the audience will respond to Kabeer; I hope they shower him with the same love and support as they've in the past to my characters.”

Kyunki... Saas Maa, Bahu Beti Hoti Hai kicks off with Hetal (Dolphin Dubey) seeking her share in the family property of Rajgaur household and moves out with her husband. This unexpected turn of events leaves Ambika, the eldest bahu devastated, as it has been her top-most priority to keep the family together. With an intense desire to disprove her sister-in-law’s belief that ‘Saas kabhi maa, aur Bahu kabhi beti nahi ban sakti’, she adopts a baby left at the doorstep of their family orphanage, and plans to raise her - not as a beti but as a future bahu who’ll keep the family together. While Kabeer is a friend who holds importance in Kesar’s life, we wonder if the drama will add a new twist to their relationship.

Tejas: Makers of Kangana Ranaut starrer to unveil teaser in October

Along with Emergency, Kangana Ranaut is all set to showcase patriotism in her another release as well. Titled Tejas, the film will feature her in the role of an Air Force pilot and recently adding to anticipation among Kangana fans, the makers treated them with the first look of the actress. And now, they are all set to reportedly unveil its first teaser on the upcoming national holiday.

Kangana Ranaut will be seen portraying a powerful role in Tejas, which will see her doing some intense scenes. While the film is scheduled to hit the big screens on October 20, the makers will reportedly unveil its first teaser on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, i.e. on October 2.  As per a source close to the production, Tejas's first asset will this teaser that they will be unveiling on this national holiday.

Written & directed by Sarvesh Mewara, Tejas features Kangana Ranaut in lead roles. This film will be an aerial actioner, which will narrate the story of Air Force officer Tejas Gill and how our Air Force Pilots work tirelessly to defend our nation, confronting numerous challenges along the way.

On the big screen, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in this week’s release Chandramukhi 2 which has been receiving good reviews. The actress essayed the role of a dancer alongside Raghava Lawrence in this horror comedy sequel to the Jyothika, Rajinikanth, and Nayanthara starrer.

Shah Rukh Khan gets Pen Marudhar on board Dunki; Distributor promises BIGGER release than Salaar in North

Shah Rukh Khan is riding on what can be termed the peak of his career. A day back, Hombale Films announced that their gangster action film, Salaar, will hit the big screens on December 22, 2023, clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's next, Dunki. The announcement shocked everyone as it's a gutsy move to clash with a superstar riding high on the success of back-to-back 500 crore films. Hombale sources however claimed to show confidence in their product and distribution of Anil Thadani.

And now, Bollywood Hungama has exclusively got to know that Pen Marudhar has come on board as the distributor of Dunki. "Pen will be releasing Dunki in most of the territories in India. After the historic success of Jawan, Pen will be looking to give Dunki a wide release across the country. They had several meetings with SRK and his co-producer Gaurav Verma over the last few months and have devised a model to give Dunki an optimum release. Rajkumar Hirani and Jio have also shown complete faith in the model of SRK and team," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Through the meetings, Pen Marudhar and Gaurav Verma have promised to give Dunki a bigger release than Salaar. "It's SRK at his peak and no one can get it easy in a clash with him. The distributors and exhibitors are excited to screen the combo of SRK and Rajkumar Hirani. While the Salaar team might opt for various models to secure screens, just the combo of SRK x Hirani is enough to excite the audience," the source told us further, adding that Pen has started initiating conversations with the exhibitors to get showcasing in place for Dunki.

The Hindi cinema audience has gotten back in big numbers to consume Hindi films and hence, a proper made-in Hindi film - Dunki - is expected to set the box office on fire, irrespective of the clash. "The exhibitor partners on Jawan have already extended complete support to Dunki. SRK, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgn are the OG Hindi Film Stars and the exhibitors are excited to support their evergreen superstars," the source concluded.

Both Dunki and Salaar are set to hit the big screen during the Christmas weekend.

SCOOP: Red Chillies team meets producers of Animal; averts ugly fight over screens for Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki and Prabhas’ Salaar

The clash of Prabhas-starrer Salaar and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki on December 22 has sent shockwaves across the industry. The trade and exhibitors got worried since it’s become a norm for distributors to fight tooth and nail over sharing of screens. The exhibitors are also put in a spot as they are often compelled to choose a film out of the two. As a result, theatres across the country have been bracing to tide over this sticky situation on December 22.

But if sources are to be believed, then the exhibitors and trade can heave a sigh of relief. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Salaar will be distributed by Anil Thadani’s AA Films, who are also the distributors of Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, which releases on December 1. There was a worry among the makers of Dunki that AA Films might tell theatres that they would get a chance to play Animal, a very highly awaited film, only if they agreed to screen Salaar over Dunki on December 22. Many distributors in the past have indulged in this practice.”

The source continued, “Hence, senior authorities from Shah Rukh Khan’s company, Red Chillies Entertainment, reached out to the producers of Animal. The Red Chillies officials requested Animal’s producers to make sure that such a situation doesn’t arise where exhibitors are arm-twisted.”

The source added, “The producers of Animal found merit in the request put forward by Red Chillies officials. They assured them that nothing of that sort would happen from their side.”

An industry insider commented, “This shows the maturity of all the players involved. Communication is key in any relationship and it’s heartening that Shah Rukh Khan took the initiative to avoid an ugly battle of screens. And his efforts proved dividends. If all goes well, the  clash between Dunki and Salaar will be a peaceful one, at least with regards to screen sharing.”

Dunki vs Salaar: Karan Johar changes the release date of Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Yodha out of respect for Shah Rukh Khan, Prabhas

Earlier this week, the industry was left stunned as the makers of Salaar decided to release the Prabhas-starrer on December 22 and thereby clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s highly awaited film, Dunki. The action flick was initially scheduled to release on September 28. Now that it got pushed to the Christmas week, it has had an effect on the other releases of the month as well.

Bollywood Hungama has learned that Yodha, which is scheduled to release on December 15, will move to another date. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Yodha is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Karan realized that it’ll be difficult for Yodha to retain screens in the second week once Dunki and Salaar arrive in cinemas. Moreover, it’ll become challenging even for Dunki and Salaar’s distributors since theatres would not want to lose out on Yodha, especially if it does well.”

The source continued, “Karan Johar has a long association with Shah Rukh Khan, which is well known. Also, he’s close to Prabhas as well since KJo presented Baahubali series in Hindi. Hence, out of respect for Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas, he has decided to bring Yodha on some other date.”

It is not yet clear if Yodha will be postponed to 2024 or whether Karan will prepone it to December 8 or some other date in November. A clearer picture is expected to emerge in a few days.

Yodha stars Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna. It is directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. Incidentally, it was earlier supposed to release on September 15. It was pushed to December 15 again due to Shah Rukh Khan since the superstar’s Jawan took the September 7 slot.

An industry insider commented, “There are murmurs that Dunki might release on Thursday, December 21. If the film is released a day before in the international markets, then ideally it would be released earlier in India as well. In such a scenario, Yodha would have got just 6 days to score before the clash of the biggies.”

Yodha is not the only film that was going to be released on December 15. The Katrina Kaif-Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas, too, has booked the December 15 date. It now remains to be seen if the makers of the Sriram Raghavan-directorial also change their date or if they decide to come a week before Dunki and Salaar, as planned.

As Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 gears up for release, Yash Raj Films adds the YRF Spy Universe logo to the trailers of Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and War

This was an exciting week for cinegoers as they were treated to the release of promos for several upcoming films. One teaser that stood out was that of Tiger 3. Starring Salman Khan, it is one of the most awaited films not just due to the superstar’s presence and the popularity of the earlier parts, Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). But this is also because it is the next instalment in the YRF Spy Universe. Hrithik Roshan-starrer War (2019) and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan (2023) are also a part of it. In fact, Salman even played the part of Tiger in Pathaan. The scenes of Salman and SRK together played a huge part in enhancing the film’s collections. And now, Shah Rukh’s Pathaan character will play a key role in Tiger 3, due to which the action entertainer is expected to be yet another blockbuster of 2023.

And now, Bollywood Hungama has learned of an interesting development. Yash Raj Films (YRF) has incorporated the YRF Spy Universe logo in the trailer of the previous films of the franchise. The logo was unveiled to the world on January 7 this year and made its first appearance in the trailer of Pathaan, which was released on January 10. This means that the earlier movies of the universe and their trailers didn’t carry the exciting logo. But now, YRF has smartly updated the trailers of Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and War with the Spy Universe logo on YouTube.

An industry insider commented, “It’s a wise thing to do. People like revisiting the trailers of these old films, as proved by their ever-increasing views and also comments. When they see the logo in these trailers, the idea will be hammered in them that the characters of Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan and also that of Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone belong to the same world. Moreover, those who just been introduced to these films will be acquainted that there exists a cinematic universe. It just enhances the value of the previous movies.”

An exhibitor agreed, “The YRF Spy Universe logo is a super-hit idea. The moment it was shown in the beginning of Pathaan, there were whistles as viewers knew that they were about to see a film which belongs to a series comprising some of the biggest superstars of the country. Also, it is the only universe of Indian cinema with its own logo and it should be flaunted.”

Coming back to Tiger 3, the Maneesh Sharma-directorial also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. It will be out on Diwali 2023.

COLORS’ romance drama Chand Jalne Laga starring Kanika Mann and Vishal Aditya Singh gets a special music video

Colors is all set to bring in a passionate love story Chand Jalne Laga on television, which revolves around the journey of two childhood sweethearts, Dev and Tara. Starring popular actors, Vishal Aditya Singh and Kanika Mann in the lead roles, the show captures how the two who once brought solace into each other’s lives are separated by the turn of fate. The makers believe that the sentiments of love, separation, and uncertainty of their extraordinary tale are best expressed through music, which has now them to create a music video.

Ahead of its launch, the show will present a soulful music video which sheds light on what it means to be in love with someone and move apart from them. Sung by award-winning singers Amit Mishra and Antara Mitra, it is titled ‘Chand Jalne Laga’ and composed by Raja Narayan Deb.

Aditya Chopra to lay the foundation of Spy Universe with Salman Khan's Tiger 3 - Ready to integrate Tiger vs Pathaan, War 2 & Alia Bhatt film

Maneesh Sharma and Aditya Chopra have chalked out the premise of Tiger 3 like a true blue universe film that opens up several story avenues for the films that are going to be made in the coming two years," the source informed Bollywood Hungama.

In fact, Tiger 3 will also give the audience an insight into what they can expect from the iconic Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan face-off in a full-fledged action thriller, Tiger vs Pathaan directed by Siddharth Anand. "There will be a lot of open ends that open avenues for character journeys in the future. Pathaan was a mere character establishment, which merged itself into the universe with the cameo of Tiger. Now, Tiger 3 is where the story goes wild and deep-rooted into the crossover. Watch out for the change of character dynamics in Tiger 3," the source told us further.

Animal Teaser: Ranbir Kapoor sets out on a path of war, revenge, and bloodshed only for his ‘papa’ Anil Kapoor

Animal has been one of the most anticipated films of the year, as it marks the first collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Kabir Singh fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Furthermore, the film has also garnered ample attention owing to Ranbir’s unique avatar. And now adding to the same, the makers have finally unveiled the teaser of the film which is expected to be a gangster action drama.

The teaser, which was unveiled on September 28, gives us glimpses of every character in the world of ‘Animal’. With Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of the titular character, he is seen setting out on a journey of warpath for his father Balbir Singh, essayed by Anil Kapoor. The teaser also shares tidbits of the love-hate relationship between the father and son as it gives us a sneak peek into the dark world of ‘animal’ which is filled with weapons and bloodshed. It also showcases glimpses of Rashmika Mandanna, as Ranbir’s love Geetanjali and it is only in the final scene of the teaser, that we are introduced to the antagonist in the world of Animal, Bobby Deol.

While details of the film have been kept under wraps ever since its announcement, audiences have definitely been left excited about the teaser. However, the 2-minute video doesn’t give out much details about the plotline but looks like a treat for action lovers.

While the film was expected to release in August alongside Gadar 2 and Oh My God, the makers pushed the release of the film for the end of the year. Animal is produced by Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar's T-Series, Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios, and Pranay Reddy Vanga's Bhadrakali Pictures. The film will be released worldwide on December 1, 2023 in 5 languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam.

Re-sharing Manish Malhotra's post, Parineeti expressed her sentiments, writing, “I missed my naani on my special day but had a piece of her on me. Thank you M.” In his detailed account, Manish Malhotra unveiled the significance behind a particular element in Parineeti's wedding attire.

Malhotra revealed, “Some details make all the difference. I distinctly remember discussing the lehenga design with Parineeti Chopra, who mentioned adding her Nani's challa (traditional keychain) to it! She wanted to pay a heartfelt tribute to her nani, who used to wear the same challa in her saree with the keys, a symbol of being the lady of the house.”

Highlighting the emotional resonance of this addition, Manish Malhotra continued, “For Parineeti, the sound of the challa when her naani walked around the house, was a melody of strength and grace. And that's when I knew we had to add that piece of legacy to her lehenga. Of course, we added more elements that were significant to both Raghav and Parineeti like London, music, Khanda Sahib and more. It was not just an accessory... but a piece of her that Parineeti would have on her special day.”

Shefali Shah, Jim Sarbh, Vir Das bag nominations at International Emmys 2023; Ektaa R Kapoor honoured with Directorate Award

Netflix India secured two International Emmy nominations at the highly coveted 2023 International Emmys. The nominations include Best Performance by an Actress for Shefali Shah who reprised her role as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi aka Madam Sir in Season 2 of the crime-drama, Delhi Crime, and Vir Das' uproarious stand-up special, Vir Das: Landing, in the Comedy category. Meanwhile, Jim Sarbh has secured a coveted International Emmy nomination for his performance in the Sony LIV original series, Rocket Boys.

Delhi Crime Season 1 put India on the map with its historic first-ever win for the country in 2020 for Best Drama Series at the International Emmys. The crime drama has secured a second International Emmy nod this time around in the Best Actress category for the inimitable, Shefali Shah. Vir Das was previously recognized for his 2021 International Emmy nomination for his Netflix special, Vir Das: For India, and made a return with Vir Das: Landing in the Comedy category this year.

Talking about the International Emmy nomination, actress Shefali Shah said, "I can't find the words to describe what I'm feeling. Delhi Crime is such a special project to me. While the first season of the show brought home an award in 2020, being nominated in the Best Actress category for Delhi Crime S2 is just overwhelming. Since the film is based on true events, to get into the skin of the character, Vikrant has gone through several preparations, which also helped him bring audacity to the screen.

Following the release of the teaser, audiences were waiting for the makers to release the trailer, and now it seems that they decided to fulfil it with this special surprise. The makers have decided to release the trailer of 12th Fail exclusively alongside the theatrical prints of The Vaccine War, directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, and Fukrey 3, distributed by Excel Entertainment. Confirming the same, a well-placed industry source revealed exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, “Yes, Ali has a small part in Fukrey 3, although the makers have not revealed his presence and have neither featured him in the promotional material. He will be seen continuing his role as Zafar from the previous two films, and will come in at the end of the film.” If that was not enough, the source further revealed that besides Ali, Fukrey 3 also drops a hint about the fourth part. “Fukrey 3 also hints about its next instalment. This is where Ali comes in, hinting that part four of the franchise will begin with his character Zafar”, reveals the source. This certainly is good news for the Fukrey franchise fans.

Fukrey 3 is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of Excel Entertainment. Starring Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha, and Varun Sharma Fukrey 3 is slated for release on September 28, 2023.

Saeeda Khan, sister of legendary Dilip Kumar, passes away

Saeeda Khan, the younger sister of the legendary late actor Dilip Kumar, breathed her last on Sunday, September 24, after a protracted battle with illness. This sombre news marks yet another loss for the family, following the demise of the iconic actor Dilip Kumar in July 2021.

Reportedly, in loving memory of Saeeda Khan, a prayer meeting has been scheduled at the Mehboob Studios on Tuesday, September 26. Her obituary reads, “She will continue to live in our hearts and our most cherished blessing and our brightest light. She has blessed us with a lifetime of memories of her immeasurable courage, grace and her uniquely loving and incredible self.”

Saeeda Khan was married to the late Iqbal Khan, the son of renowned producer Mehboob Khan, celebrated for his classics such as Mother India and Andaz. Iqbal Khan, before his passing in 2018, also served as the trustee of the illustrious Mehboob Studios located in Bandra.

As per a report by ETimes, Saeeda Khan's passing was the result of a prolonged battle with illness. The source, while speaking to the portal, described Saeeda as a compassionate individual. She leaves behind her daughter Ilham and her son Saqib, who lovingly looked after her following Iqbal's demise in 2018. Ilham is a writer while Saqib has made his mark as a producer.

It is worth mentioning here that Saira Banu, who marked her Instagram debut a few months back, is yet to comment on the tragic news.

On the other hand, they are also excited to see his chemistry with Rashmika Mandanna, since this will mark the first collaboration together.

Boney Kapoor REFUTES claims of Maidaan being unfinished and over budget: “Shoot is complete, extensive VFX work underway”

Producer Boney Kapoor has refuted claims that the football drama Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn, is unfinished and that the makers have exceeded their budget.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Kapoor said, "I recently showed some portions of the film to almost 300 people in Chennai, and they loved it. The film’s shoot is complete. However, extensive VFX work is underway, which is taking some time. Contrary to what reports suggest, the budget has not been exceeded."

A source close to the film's production team also told the portal, "Maidaan is a unique film with a long-lasting appeal. It is expected to gain momentum through word of mouth, much like Dangal. Hence, we are taking our time to select the date and there’s no rush."

The report also stated that the release date will be announced next week. The makers are contemplating whether to release the film this year with Tiger 3, Animal, and Dunki already lined up to hit theatres in the last three months or wait for early next year.

Maidaan was announced in 2019 and was set to release in November 2020. However, the film's release was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film's teaser was released in March 2023, with a new release date of June 23, 2023. However, the film was postponed again due to delays in its post-production.

Maidaan is a biopic of Syed Abdul Rahim, the former coach of the Indian national football team. The film is directed by Amit Sharma and also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh.

Prabhudeva gets Rs. 10 crores for his baddie act in Himesh Reshammiya starrer Badass Ravikumar

Himesh Reshammiya means the man in business. Touted to be one of the most successful music composers of modern times, Himesh Reshammiya transitioned into acting in 2007 with Aap Ka Suroor. He followed that up with Karzzz, Dumadum, Xpose, and Tera Suroor among others. And now, come 2024, Himesh is back with another film - this time in an action-packed avatar in Badass Ravikumar.

On Friday, it was revealed that Himesh has got Prabhudeva to play the negative lead alongside him in the Dussehra 2024 release, Badass Ravikumar. And now, Bollywood Hungama has got to know that it was a task to get Prabhudeva on board the film. "Himesh wants to provide uncompromised entertainment to his audience next year and is keen to get some of the big names on board the film. Right since the antagonist character was written, Himesh wanted Prabhudeva to play the part. He approached Deva with the role and he was excited to come on board the film," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

The trade source further told us, "But there has been a big spike in the acting fees for Prabhu over the last year. He has acted in multiple successful Tamil films and believes that he has a dedicated fan base for his work. He also has a following in Hindi with successful acting in films like ABCD and Street Dancer. He quoted Rs. 10 crores and it was an instant yes from Himesh, who is known to be a large-hearted producer, going all out to get what he wants."

Badass Ravikumar goes on floors in March 2024 and will hit the big screen in October next year.

Debt-ridden Future Group’s Food Hall vacates Salman Khan’s property in Santacruz, Mumbai; taken over by Food Square at a rental of Rs. 1 crore a month

The gourmet supermarket Food Hall was famous not just for its exotic and expansive variety of food but also because it was frequented by several celebrities. Bollywood actors and actresses like Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, Sara Ali Khan, Disha Patani, Ananya Panday, Sunny Leone etc, have been clicked while entering or exiting Food Hall by the paparazzi and hence, its popularity reached far and wide. However, the 4-floor space, owned by superstar Salman Khan, was vacated by Food Hall some months ago. It has now been replaced by a new chain, Food Square.

Salman Khan bought the property at Linking Road, Santacruz West, Mumbai in 2012 for around Rs. 120 crores with the intention to use it for commercial purposes. It was leased out to Food Hall in July 2017. As per reports, it was Salman Khan’s father who did the paperwork. The reports at that time stated that the deal was signed for Rs. 80 lakhs per month as rent for a period of five years, after which it was going to increase to Rs. 89.60 lakhs per month. Future Group, currently debt-ridden, had also given a deposit of Rs. 2.40 crore to Salman Khan.

Once the five-year period was over, Salman Khan reportedly renewed the agreement with Food Hall for two years, in 2022. As per the conditions in the agreement, the retail giant was to pay him Rs. 89.60 lakhs per month for the first year and Rs. 94.08 lakhs per month in the second year.

Then, news came in March 2023 that Salman Khan wanted to terminate the agreement and seek back the property, supposedly due to non-payment of dues. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) in April ruled in the star’s favour.

As per a report in The Economic Times, LandCraft Retail, which owns Food Square, will pay a rent of Rs. 1 crore per month to use the prime space. The story also states that just like Food Hall, Food Square has also tied up with Versace for its collection of cutleries, live stations by Entisi Chocolate, and Italian food at Oliveology.

On the work front, Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of Tiger 3, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. It’ll release in cinemas on Diwali this year.

SCOOP: Prashanth Neel decides to reshoot Salaar climax; Prabhas film delayed further

Just 30 days before the film's release, Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films announced that their action-packed thriller, Salaar, starring Prabhas, will not release on September 28 due to VFX issues. The announcement sent shock waves in the industry as the release was delayed after the commencement of advance bookings in some territories. And just days after the news of postponement broke out in the media, Bollywood Hungama has got its hands on some scoop.

According to sources close to the development, Prashanth Neel and co. have silently reunited to reshoot some portions of Salaar, which includes high points of the film's climax. "The idea is to better the product for the biggest cinematic experience. Prashanth Neel wants to outdo his previous work and when he watched the film in one go recently, he felt there was still a lot of scope of improvement. Prashanth is a taskmaster. He got support from his producers, who took the risk of delaying the film and increasing the budget to creatively satisfy the director," revealed a very close source.

The reshoot aspect has been taken positively by all the stakeholders. "Given the money at which film is bought across the market, it's always good to come up with a polished and complete product. When there is scope for improvement, it's always nice to improve. The idea of this short reshoot is to enhance the cinematic experience for the viewers," the source further told us.

That's not all, as according to the source, VFX is also a reason for the delay in Salaar. "Approx. 600 vfx shots are yet to be received by the team of Salaar, and to date, that's pending. Basically, the delay has come for multiple reasons, which include delay in VFX output and some reshoots in the climax," the source shared with us.

A new release date of Salaar will be announced once the VFX shots are received and Prashanth Neel stitches the reshot portions in the final edit.

National Award-winning Malayalam filmmaker K. G. George passes away

Veteran Malayalam film director K.G. George passed away at the age of 77 at an old age home in Kakkanad in Kochi today. He is survived by his wife, playback singer Salma and two children.

George was a highly respected director in the Malayalam film industry but had been suffering from a stroke for the past few years. He was resting at the Kakkanad old age home.

He was one of the iconic filmmakers of the Malayalam industry and had forayed into new scripts and made challenging movies.

George was born in Changanassery, Kerala, in 1946. He made his directorial debut with the film Swapnadanam in 1975, which also bagged the National Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. He went on to direct some of the most acclaimed Malayalam films of all time, including Ulkadal (1979), Mela (1980), Yavanika (1982), Lekhayude Maranam Oru Flashback (1983), Panchavadi Palam (1984), Irakal (1985), and Mattoral (1988).

He won the Kerala State Film Awards for his movies Yavanika, Swapnadanam, Adaminte Vaariyellu and Irakal. He was also awarded the JC Daniel Award, in recognition of his lifelong contributions to Malayalam cinema in 2016.

Aamir Khan donates Rs. 25 lakhs to families affected by Himachal Pradesh flood disaster

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has extended help to the families affected by the floods, landslides and more in the Himachal Pradesh disaster. The actor has donated Rs. 25 lakhs to the Aapda Rahat Kosh-2023 for those who are currently facing difficulties amid the crisis.

As per a report in ANI, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu thanked Aamir Khan for his gesture. He said that this will “undoubtedly assist in relief and rehabilitation efforts aimed at helping the affected families to recover from the aftermath of the disaster.” He added that this gesture by Aamir Khan will make “a remarkable difference in the lives of those who have been adversely affected by monsoon fury in the State.” Himachal Pradesh has faced persistent rainfall due to which places have faced floods, landslides and cloudbursts.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is co-producing Laapataa Ladies with Jio Studios which was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 8. Helmed by Kiran Rao, the film has been made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions, with the script based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami. Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone to shoot dance number and romantic ballad for Fighter in Italy: Report

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone are all set to resume work on the last leg of Siddharth Anand's aerial action thriller, Fighter. The duo, along with Anil Kapoor, will be shooting for some patchwork sequences alongside three songs.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Hrithik and Deepika are off to Italy for a 15-day schedule of Fighter. The duo will be shooting for two songs during this period, starting September 27. The first song is a foot-tapping dance number on the lines of ‘Ghungroo’ from War.

The stylish song, composed by Vishal and Shekhar, will be choreographed by Bosco and Ceaser and will have multiple hook steps for the two leads. The second song is a quintessential romantic ballad that will showcase the chemistry between Hrithik and Deepika. The entire team is excited about the international leg of Fighter, as it will bring a new flavour to the visual palette of the film.

On a concluding note, the source told the publication, “It’s going to be a wrap on the aerial action thriller by mid-October. The conclusion of the shoot will also lead to the commencement of the promotional journey on Fighter as the team will be treating the fans with constant updates and assets from October to January leading to the grand release on Republic Day.”

Fighter is being planned as a trilogy and is produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under their banner, Marflix Entertainment, in association with Viacom 18. The film is scheduled to release on Republic Day 2024.

RagNeeti Wedding: Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann join guest list; Rajasthan CM may attend too

The eagerly awaited wedding of actor Parineeti Chopra and politician Raghav Chadha is set to take place on September 24 at the opulent The Leela Palace in Udaipur. Preparations for the wedding are in full swing, with the couple recently hosting pre-wedding festivities in New Delhi, including a Sufi night and an ardaas ceremony.

Amid all the buzz, Arvind Kumar Poswal, the newly appointed District Magistrate of Udaipur, said, “Royal weddings keep taking place in Udaipur every now and then. In fact, our city is known for hosting some of the biggest and most opulent wedding affairs. This time around, we have received special force members since some VVIPs will attend the big-scale wedding,” during his conversation with News18.

He further added, “We’ve amped up security only around the main wedding venue of The Leela Palace. The Chief Ministers of Punjab and Delhi will be attending the gala. The security will be in tandem with what their protocol demands.”

Furthermore, there is a possibility that the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, may also grace the celebrations. However, his schedule has yet to be confirmed. The DM asserted, “The CM of Rajasthan may also attend the wedding but his schedule hasn’t reached us yet. The roads in and around The Leela Palace also have members of special forces on duty 24×7.”

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that Parineeti’s cousin and global star Priyanak Chopra is also likely to give the wedding a miss.

Actress Zeenat Aman has recently recovered from the horrible flu that kept her bedridden for 10 days. The actress, who is known for her active presence on social media, shared a glimpse of her behind-the-scenes work on Instagram in her latest post.

In the post, Zeenat shared multiple images from different sets that she has worked on this year. In one photo, the actress looks stunning in a black gown with slit detailing, eating something on her break. In another photo, Zeenat can be seen getting glammed up by her crew of female makeup artists and stylists.

In the caption, Zeenat wrote, "I’ve been bedridden with a horrible flu for the past 10 days, and now I have a manic week of work ahead! But before I dive into it, here’s a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes."

Kareena Kapoor Khan to join Ajay Devgn on the sets of Singham Again today: Report

Following the release of Jaane Jaan and making her streaming debut, Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to begin the shoot for Singham Again. Reuniting with Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, this marks her third collaboration with them. It is being reported that the actress will be starting the shoot on Saturday, September 23.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Kareena teams up with Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn again for the third part of the Singham franchise, and she will join the sets tomorrow (September 23). It's yet unclear whether she will reprise her role of Avni Kamat from the previous part or play an entirely new character, but she will shoot for some romantic and talkie portions with Ajay in this schedule. Kareena shares a familial bond with Ajay and is very excited to get back on set with him again after a nine-year hiatus.”

A few days ago, Ajay Devgn kicked off the shoot with Ranveer Singh, who reprises the role of Simmba. While Akshay Kumar’s character Sooryavanshi was missing, he is expected to join the shoot soon. Deepika Padukone will be a part of the universe followed by which she will have her standalone movie.

"Collecting Rs. 100 crores is not going to be a very big deal. The bottom mark should be Rs. 1000 crores for a film right now" - Salman Khan

The trailer launch of the Punjabi film Maujaan Hi Maujaan was held at a multiplex in Mumbai on Thursday, September 21. The event became memorable as superstar Salman Khan made an appearance as the chief guest. As expected, he gave some headline-grabbing quotes.

Salman Khan was asked to comment on the recent Punjabi blockbuster, Carry On Jatta 3 (2023), which was also helmed by Maujaan Hi Maujaan's director Smeep Kang and starred Gippy Grewal. The comic caper grossed Rs. 100 crores worldwide, as per reports.

On this Salman Khan said, "I feel that the Rs. 100 crore mark is going to be rock bottom now. Films are going to do business of Rs. 400, 500 or 600 crore plus now. Not just for the Punjabi industry. Even Marathi films are doing big numbers right now."

Salman Khan continued, "Basically, people are going to the theatres once again to go and watch movies. Hence, collecting Rs. 100 crores is not going to be a very big deal. The bottom mark should be Rs. 1000 crores for a film right now!"

On the work front, Salman Khan's latest release was Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which release this year on Eid. His next film, Tiger 3, will release on Diwali this year. It also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, with fellow superstar Shah Rukh Khan in a special appearance.

Directed by Farhad Samji, the film features the story of three brothers who are in search of a bride for this bachelor brother.
