Priyanka Chopra Jonas reveals she froze her eggs in early 30s’; says, “The biological clock is for real”

After becoming a global star, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas last year became a mother. She and her husband Nick Jonas welcomed a baby girl via surrogacy after three years of marriage. Ever since Malti Marie Jonas’ birth, the actress has often been very vocal about embracing motherhood. Recently, speaking on the same note she revealed that she froze her eggs much before meeting Nick, at the suggestion of her mother Madhu Chopra. It all happened during her interaction with Dax Shepherd. She asserted, “I always knew I wanted kids and that was one of the reasons I didn’t want to date Nick because I was like I don’t know if he would want kids at 25. I love kids, I have worked with kids at UNICEF, I have volunteered at kids’ hospitals, I am like a kid whisperer, and I would rather spend time with children than with adults.” PeeCee further added, “I felt such freedom, I did it in my early thirties and I could continue on an ambitious warpath, I wanted to achieve and I wanted to get to a certain place in my career. Also, I had not met the person with whom I wanted to have children. So, with that anxiety-inducing, and with my mom who is an ob-gyn (obstetrician-gynaecologist) going, ’36…just do it'.” Explaining her take on the same, Desi Girl said, “My mom had said this to me and I did it for myself as well. I tell all my younger friends that the biological clock is real. It gets so much harder to get pregnant after 35 and to carry to term and all of that. Especially with women that have been working all their lives. But science is at such an amazing place right now where if you can afford it, I tell people you save money for a car, do it for this Christmas, this is the best gift you will give yourself because you are taking the power of your biological clock. Om Raut and Bhushan Kumar visit Vaishno Devi to seek blessings for Adipurush

Filmmaker Om Raut and producer Bhushan Kumar recently visited the holy Vaishno Devi temple on the occasion of Navratri and to seek blessings for their upcoming keenly awaited film Adipurush, which stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. For the unversed, Vaishno Devi is one of the foremost pilgrimage sites in India, situated in Jammu and Kashmir. Sharing more about the visit, a statement from the makers said, “Remarking the creation of universe and beginning of the world by Maa Shri Durga, Chaitra Navratri holds immense significance in the Hindu culture! With this belief and Shri Gulshan Kumar’s immense faith in Maa Vaishno Devi, the makers seek divine blessings for Adipurush.” Adipurush is the retelling of the great Indian epic Ramayana. Vivian Dsena CONFIRMS having a four-month-old daughter; says, “I don’t want my family in the limelight”

Pathaan director Siddharth Anand opens up on ‘Besharam Rang’ controversy; says he chose orange bikini “randomly”

The ‘Besharam Rang’ controversy arose when a few fringe groups called for a boycott of the film Pathaan after objections were raised over the colour of Deepika Padukone's bikini in the song. Many demanded that the song be removed or the colour of the costume be changed. However, the makers did not make any changes, and the film was eventually released to positive reviews from the audience. Speaking of the same, director Siddharth Anand shared the story behind choosing an orange colour bikini. It all happened during the News18 Rising India summit 2023. While addressing the issue, Siddharth stated that he chose the costume “randomly” and “never gave it too much thought.” He asserted, “The colour was looking nice. It was sunny, the grass was greener and the water was blue and the orange colour was looking good.” Anand further explained, “We thought when the audience would watch it they would understand that our intent was not wrong.” As he continued, Siddharth mentioned that “they were not scared” while calling the boycott “white noise.” He was quoted saying, “We knew that there was nothing objectionable in our film.” According to Siddharth, he would not hold the audience accountable for their initial reaction to the controversy since they had not seen the film at that point. He expressed gratitude for the audience's overwhelming response to the film, stating that they had shown great support by flocking to theatres to watch it. Concluding his take, the 44-year-old director said, “They (the audience) proved the whole boycott movement wrong. And when you are calling for a boycott of a star or a movie, you are not seeing how many people’s livelihood is dependent on that particular movie especially if it works. At least three hundred people work on a film every day. And when the shoot gets over so many VFX artists work on the post-production. It’s very easy to say boycott, that too, without reason.” Coming to the professional front, Siddharth is currently busy with the shooting of his next venture, Fighter, starring Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan. Amitabh Bachchan cannot wait to get back to shooting

The process of healing after Amitabh Bachchan’s recent injury on the sets of Nag Ashwin’s Project K in Hyderabad, is taking longer than expected. “Even when the ribs are repaired, he won’t be allowed to shoot for a while,” says a close family friend. Mr Bachchan who will turn 81 in October, is raring to get back on his feet. “He is getting extremely restless. It’s been three weeks since he has been advised complete bedrest. He’s done with his quota of binge-watching and reading. He wants to get back to shooting ASAP, which doctors have advised him against,” the family friend reveals. It is likely that the mega-star, known to have suffered near-fatal accidents and illnesses in the past, would get back on his feet and resume shooting against doctors’ advice. In an interview in the past Mr Bachchan had said this writer, “It is only when I am at work shooting that I feel a complete sense of being alive. Salman Khan Threat Case: Dhakad Ram Bishnoi arrested in Jodhpur by Mumbai Police

Over a week ago, Bollywood actor Salman Khan's security was beefed up by the Mumbai Police after one of his associates, Jordy Patel, received a threat via an email. His close friend Prashant Gunjalkar filed a complaint regarding the same and a case was registered at the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and a person named Rohit Garg under IPC sections 506(2),120(b) & 34. Now, Mumbai Police has arrested a man named Dhakad Ram Bishnoi in Jodhpur in connection with the email threatening case. As per reports, Dhakad Ram Bishnoi (21) is a resident of Siyagon ki Dhani in Rohicha Kalan village in Jodhpur. He was reportedly out on bail under the Arms Act. Gaurav Yadav, Jodhpur’s DCP (West), said that a team from Mumbai’s Bandra Police had arrived to arrest him. “They asked us to assist them in detaining Bishnoi. We provided them with the support and handed Bishnoi over to the Mumbai PoliceYadav said, as reported by PTI on Sunday. "After a detailed technical investigation into the case, police got information about the accused person's whereabouts, following which a team was sent to Rajasthan and the man was apprehended," a police official said. According to a previous report in PTI, a police official said that “two Assistant Police Inspector (API)-rank officers and eight to ten constables will be part of Khan's security detail round the clock.” The official also added that fans won’t be allowed to assemble outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra. It was earlier reported that Y-plus security has been provided to Salman Khan by the police. He will also travel in bullet-proof car with his personal security detail. Additional security measures have also been given to the actor. As per reports, a person named Rohit Garg allegedly issued the threat and mentioned Goldy Brar, Canadian gangster's name, saying the latter wants to meet the actor in person. Recently, Lawrence Bishnoi also allegedly said that killing Salman is his life's goal. In a recent report shared by ABP News, Bishnoi was quoted saying, “There is anger in our society for Salman Khan. He humiliated my society. A case was filed against him but he did not apologize. If he does not tender an apology, be ready to face the consequences. I will not depend on anyone else.” He went on to add that he has been harboring the feeling of hatred ever since childhood. Bishnoi continued, “Will break his ego sooner or later. He should come to our deity’s temple and apologize. Some significant films from Bollywood haven’t worked in recent times. But thanks to the blockbuster success of Pathaan, the industry is able to breathe easy for the time being. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, this Yash Raj Films (YRF) production broke several records and is now the biggest Hindi grosser ever, crossing the collections of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (2017). And recently, YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani shared some interesting details about how the company’s fortunes changed thanks to Pathaan. In an interaction with The Economic Times, Akshaye Widhani said that in terms of revenue, FY 2023-24 will be bigger than FY 2019-20 and 2021-22 for YRF. He also confessed that the Spy Universe has become a precious IP for them and that it is India’s biggest franchise. The Spy Universe’s first film was Ek Tha Tiger (2012), starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The same star cast was repeated in Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). Then, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff were seen in War (2019). All these aforementioned films were huge blockbusters in cinemas. Pathaan meanwhile was a one-of-its-kind Spy Universe film as it also featured Salman Khan as Tiger. The Economic Times article also mentions that as per an Acuite Ratings report, Yash Raj Films in FY 2019-20 recorded a net profit of Rs. 61 crores on operating income of Rs. 614 crores. In FY 2021-22, it had a net profit of Rs. 115 crores on an operating income of Rs 614 crores. Pathaan meanwhile has already collected more than Rs. 1000 crores globally. And this year, YRF is scheduled to have two more releases – Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, and The Great Indian Family, featuring Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar. Tiger 3 will release on Diwali 2023 and will have a special appearance of Shah Rukh Khan, reprising his role of Pathaan. And that’s not all. Akshaye Widhani, in interaction with Variety, has admitted that they are looking to now release Pathaan in China, Japan and Latin America. This can further add to Pathaan’s box office collections and also YRF’s revenues. Bombay HC rules in favour of Salman Khan and his bodyguard; quashes complaint in journalist ‘assault’ case

In March 2022, the Andheri Magistrate Court had issued a summons to Salman Khan and his bodyguard Nawaz Shaikh after a journalist filed a complaint against the actor in 2019 accusing the actor of misbehaving with him. It was later challenged in the High Court. As per the latest update in the case, the Bombay High Court, on Thursday, quashed the private case. A single-judge bench of Justice Bharati H Dangre had concluded the hearing. The single bench also reserved its orders in the plea by Salman Khan and his bodyguard on March 21. Dangre said, “Let people have their own privacy, Whether it is an actor, lawyer or judge. None of you is above the law. Neither an actor nor a press person. Even they are bound to follow the law,” during the hearing. Meanwhile, the actor's lawyer, senior counsel Aabad Ponda, claimed that the journalist's words and stance had significantly improved. Bombay High Court ordered to quash the FIR registered against actor Salman Khan, in the case of assault and misbehaviour with a journalist in 2019. For the unversed, a journalist had claimed that he along with a camera person, tried to film Khan when the actor was cycling. In his complaint, he alleged that though he had the bodyguards’ permission, they allegedly manhandled him and snatched his phone after Khan objected to being photographed. He also alleged that the D N Nagar police had refused to file a complaint, after which he filed a private complaint before the magistrate, seeking criminal action against the actor and his bodyguard. On April 5 of last year, the high court issued a stay of the proceedings, which it upheld intermittently. Sachin – A Billion Dreams, which was based on India’s cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, was one of a kind documentary that also did well at the box office apart from gaining critical acclaim. Now, the producer of the film Ravi Bhagchandka has teamed up with Aamir Khan and Sony Pictures to producer a sports drama titled Champions. Sharing more about the film, Bhagchandka said in a statement, “Champions is not an out and out sports film. It has a human-interest story against the backdrop of sports.” The film is the official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones (English title: Champions). “We saw the film at the Berlin Film Festival and we really liked what we saw. Bhumi Pednekar on her role as UNDP's First National Advocate, “I hope all the work I do goes towards making the world more equal in many ways”

Last week, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced Bollywood star and a passionate Climate Warrior Bhumi Pednekar as their first National Advocate for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a National Advocate, Bhumi will support UNDP India's efforts to raise awareness and mobilize support for the SDGs, a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. Bhumi made her first appearance in her new role at the launch of the flagship magazine, Inspiring India. The second edition of the magazine is a tribute to the exceptional women of this country and their indomitable spirit to challenge the status quo, shatter stereotypes and make change happen. As shared by Hindustan times, UNDP India asked Pednekar a slew of questions on her journey, inspirations and more at the launch event. Nawazuddin Siddiqui files Rs. 100 crore defamation case against his brother and estranged wife

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has moved the court for defaming and maligning his image and has filed a defamation suit against Shamas Nawab Siddiqui and former wife Aaliya Siddiqui seeking damages of Rs. 100 crores. As per current reports, the hearing will be held on March 30 by Justice RI Chagla. The suit has come after several allegations were thrown against the Kick actor after his wife accused the Siddiqui family of harassment and torture. In his suit, the actor has alleged that the allegations thrown towards him has affected his public image. In the suit that has been filed through advocate Sunil Kumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has alleged that he is unable to make any kind of appearances or attend social gatherings owing to the many accusations thrown towards him. He has alleged that these ‘misleading claims’ have impacted his career and hence, he has also requested the court to pass an order of injunction to restrict his brother and estranged wife Anjana Pandey alias Aaliya Siddiqui from making any more defamatory comments against him, along with a request added for taking down the already existing remarks and statements against him. Furthermore, in the same suit, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has also alleged that his brother has committed several fraudulent transactions which has resulted in major monetary loss for the actor. The actor has further alleged that due to misappropriation of funds, the actor currently owes a whopping amount of Rs. 37 crores to the government, after his brother failed to make some major payments. Furthermore, he has also accused his wife Aaliya Siddiqui of being an accomplice to his brother and misappropriating Rs. 21 crores. As per the given report, when Nawazuddin confronted his brother regarding the missing funds, the latter is claimed to have ‘instigated’ Nawaz’s estranged wife against the Siddiqui family, which led to her alleging that how her in-laws tortured and harassed her. With the hearing to be held on March 30, it is yet to be seen how the case proceeds. Salman Khan brings Pooja Hegde in place of Kareena Kapoor Khan in Pavan Putra

Released in 2015, Bajrangi Bhaijaan not only became one of the biggest hits but also a film that found mass acceptance. Starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and child actress Harshali Malhotra, the film about the unusual bond between a simpleton Indian and a little Pakistani girl moved hearts. Last year, fans of Salman Khan had a moment of rejoice when the sequel of Bajrangi Bhaijaan titled Pavan Putra was announced. The thought of seeing their favourite star essay the same role again was reason enough to excite them. But there was no update on the project following the announcement. But now, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Salman has brought Pooja Hegde on board for Pavan Putra. In other words, the film will see her replacing Kareena Kapoor. Whether Pooja will play the same character that Kareena played in the first film is not known yet. Interestingly, Pooja is also the leading lady in Salman’s upcoming release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Directed by Farhad Samji, the film is all set to release during Eid in April this year. Sonu Nigam’s father robbed of Rs. 72 lakh, FIR registered against ex-driver

Sonu Nigam’s father Agamkumar Nigam has filed an FIR (First Information Report) against his former driver for allegedly stealing Rs. 72 lakh from his residence in Mumbai. The singer's father lives at Windsor Grand building in Oshiwara, Andheri west. The alleged robbery took between March 19 and March 20. The FIR was registered by Sonu Nigam's sister Nikita who reached Oshiwara police station in the wee hours of Wednesday. As per the complaint, Agamkumar Nigam has a driver named Rehan for 8 months but was sacked from the job after his performance was unsatisfactory, as told by an official. As per a report in PTI, an official said that Agamkumar visited Nikita's home in the Versova area on March 19 for lunch. He was back at his residence after sometime. He called his daughter in the evening to inform her that “Rs 40 lakh was missing from a digital locker kept in a wooden cupboard.” Agamkumar Nigam visited his son's house the next day at 7 Bungalows for visa-related work. He returned home later that evening to find out Rs. 32 lakh were missing from the locker and that it wasn't damaged. As per the report, the official added, “Agamkumar and Nikita checked the CCTV footage of his society which showed his former driver Rehan going towards his flat with a bag on both days when he was away. Agamkumar suspects Rehan entered his flat with the help of a duplicate key and stole Rs. 72 lakh from the digital locker in the bedroom.” An FIR has been filed under the Indian Penal Code sections 380, 454 and 457 for robbery and trespassing. After the roaring first look creating a stir on social media and a teaser announcing the power-packed star cast, the trailer of Anubhav Sinha's Bheed was released earlier this month. The film depicts the hard-hitting reality of social disparity at times when borders were drawn within the country. However, it was also met with backlash and the trailer was removed from YouTube. A few days ago, a new trailer was unveiled with some edits. From the same, the talk about the comparison between the situations of migrant workers during the COVID-19 lockdown to the partition of India was removed. Also, India’s Prime Minister Modi’s narration was altered. In an interview with Indian Express, Anubhav Sinha was asked why he opted to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s voice-over from the new trailer which was recently re-uploaded. He said, “There are more changes in the trailer, but this makes more news for you. Every film goes through various such challenges. Let’s talk about Bheed the story. I don’t want to distract people from the story of Bheed, as its way more interesting.” Anubhav even addressed the online backlash over the trailer and being called “anti-national” after the first teaser compared the COVID-19 lockdown to the partition of India in 1947. He said, “Yes I have heard I am anti-national before. I do hear it for most of my films. But it didn’t surprise me. I love India, I love the original idea of India. Anybody who loves India more than I do, I respect that person. Spotify drops Zee Music Company’s songs over licensing dispute

Spotify has removed the songs of Zee Music after negotiations for a renewal of their licensing agreement fell through. As a result, the platform no longer has several really popular tracks. For instance, ‘Apna Bana Le’ from Bhediya, which had been the top song on Spotify in India for the previous two weeks, has been taken off. Speaking of the matter, Spotify told Billboard, “Spotify and Zee Music have been unable to reach a licensing agreement.” The music streaming platform further added, “Throughout these negotiations, Spotify has tried to find creative ways to strike a deal with Zee Music and will continue our good faith negotiations in hopes of finding a mutually agreeable solution soon.” On the other hand, Billboard also mentioned that the chief business officer at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Anurag Bedi, declined to comment on the matter. It is worth mentioning here that Zee Music had numerous tracks on Spotify’s Daily Top 200 Songs chart for India. The list includes songs such as ‘Maiyya Mainu’ from Jersey, the title tracks from ‘Kalank’ and ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’, ‘Makhna’ from Drive, ‘Namo Namo’ from Kedarnath and ‘Zaalima’ from Raees. But due to the ongoing dispute, all these tracks will remain unavailable on the platform till a new agreement comes through. Akshay Kumar’s remake of Soorarai Pottru to release on September 1

The release date of the Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal starrer Hindi remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru is out. The Sudha Kongara directorial venture will be releasing in theatres on September 1 this year. Produced by Abundantia Entertainment and 2D Entertainment, the yet untitled film is tentatively called Production No. 27. Released in November 2020, Soorarai Pottru starred Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu, among others. The film was also helmed by Sudha Kongara. The Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru went on floors in April 2022 in an auspicious way through the breaking of a coconut by Radhika. The video of the same was shared by Akshay back then. He had also asked his fans to suggest a title for the film. “With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it ???? Akshay Kumar starrer Hera Pheri 4 lands in legal trouble; T-Series issues public notice claiming audio and visual rights of songs

Bollywood's comedy trio is back as Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal kicked off the shoot for the third instalment of Hera Pheri in February 2023. However, the film has already landed in legal trouble. Music giant and production house T-Series has reportedly issued a public notice to the makers of Hera Pheri 4, claiming the visual and audio rights to every song in the franchise. The notice reads that the production house is the “sole and exclusive right holder of all copyright of all Music and Audio Visual Song Rights” of the franchise in all mediums. According to the Times Of India, an excerpt in the notice read, “Notice is hereby given to the public in general and film trade in particular that Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (T-Series) is the sole and absolute owner of copyright in relation to the music and audio visual songs i.e. Master Sound Recordings, Literary Works and Musical Works embodied in the Sound Recordings, and Audio Visuals of all the songs (hereinafter referred to as “Music and Audio Visual Song Rights”) for entire world in perpetuity for exploitation on all modes, media and formats (whether existing now and / or arising in future)in the Hindi language film currently “Untitled”, to be released as a franchise of the «HERA PHERI’ films (hereinafter referred to as the “Franchise Film”); The Music and Audio Visual Song Rights were assigned by Base Industries Group to T-Series.” Hera Pheri (2000), which was directed by Priyadarshan, was a story of a poor landlord and his two tenants, and how they become rich after they receive a wrong number. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), directed by Neeraj Vora, took the story forward and how the trio went from riches to rags in their quest for greed and wealth. Hera Pheri 4 is expected to take the story forward after the events of the second part. This installment is being helmed by Farhad Samji. Mumbai police take action against gangsters Bishnoi and others for threatening Salman Khan

Not too long ago, there were reports of how Lawrence Bishnoi threatened Salman Khan and told the superstar to apologize to his community after the actor was accused of killing a blackbuck during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Now, adding further, a staff member of the Sultan actor’s team has found a threatening letter asking Salman to have a talk with Canadian gangster Goldie Brar, in an email that was sent by a certain Rohit Garg. Salman Khan’s manager Prashant Gunjalkar came across the email last week, which Khan had received from a certain Rohit Garg who asked the superstar to have an interaction with Goldie Garg in order to resolve his issues with Lawrence Bishnoi. Furthermore, the email was reportedly said to have been written under the presumption that Salman Khan witnessed the interview that was given by Bishnoi recently. It had the gangster threatening to kill the superstar, if he didn’t apologize for allegedly killing a blackbuck. For the unversed, the blackbuck killing case that can be traced to the late 90s, witnessed serious allegations against the superstar for allegedly hunting a rare species, which is also considered to be sacred among the Bishnoi community. Followed by the threatening email, on Saturday night, Gunjalkar contacted the Mumbai police and registered a complaint against the three names. As per a statement reportedly given by an official in Bandra police station, the authorities have taken serious cognisance of this threat, followed by which they increased the security for the superstar. And besides that, they also registered a complaint under sections 12(B) and 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code, which includes charges of criminal conspiracy and intimidation. Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again to clash with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on Diwali 2024

After the first two instalments turning out to be successful, there is keen interest for the third part of Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Singham Again. The franchise revolves around the adventures of the super cop Bajirao Singham, played by Ajay Devgn. The makers yesterday revealed that the film will be going on floors in July 2023 and release during Diwali 2024. By opting for this release date, Singham Again will now be clashing with the Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The makers of the third film in the horror comedy franchise revealed the release date for the film earlier this month. Kartik shared an announcement video of the film on social media where he appeared as his character Rooh Baba. Salman Yusuff Khan shares a “disturbing” event; claims Bengaluru immigration officer harassed him for not knowing Kannada, watch

Actor-choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan, on Wednesday, took to his social media handle and dropped a video alleging that he was harassed and asked to speak in Kannada by an immigration officer at the Bengaluru international airport. Salman went on his Instagram Live to narrate the “disturbing” incident where he felt harassed by the officer. Along with the video, he shared the details of the incident in the caption as well. He tagged Kempegowda International Airport and wrote, “On my way to Dubai and I meet this immigration officer who speaks to me in Kannada .. and I in my broken Kannada try to tell him that I understand the language but can’t speak so well to which he continues to speak in Kannada and shows me my passport and points out my name and my birthplace and my father’s name and his birthplace and has the audacity to tell me that .. you and your father are born in Bangalore and u can’t speak Kannada.” The dancer-choreographer also added that when he tried to defend himself saying that he can speak Hindi instead, the officer still insisted that he could “suspect” Salman “for anything”. As he continued, Khan added, “I told him … TRY ME .
